Movie posters are not only great for marketing and promoting a movie. Chosen carefully, you can use them as part of room decorations. But, of course, for this to work, you need movie posters that are not of below-average level. It would be great if the poster you choose comes from a movie that is both commercially successful and critically praised. But you should not feel discouraged if it is the other way around. At the very least, it works to add the esthetic of the room in the process.
Take a look at the movie poster for “mother!” The movie itself received polarizing reviews from its incoherent storytelling and was praised for its cinematography. But Darren Aronofsky’s labor of love has a poster that is equally bold and artful. Jennifer Lawrence is seen bearing her heart out-literally-and it is brilliant. “Raw” movie poster may not be your typical movie poster-as is the case with the movie itself. Themes of college and cannibalism do not work as the usual room decoration but they do make for a striking element to the scene. The debut of Julia Ducournau was a surprise hit in 2017. The poster hints at the movie’s character’s bloodlust without actually telling viewers what it is all about.
“Lady Bird”, one of the biggest stars in Oscars 2017, has a poster that is made to look as if it is framed in a stained glass window. Star Saoirse Ronan is put front and center. The poster might look even more somber than the movie itself but it makes use of bright colors to improve the look. Artwork for Park Chan-Wook’s movies is all pretty to look at and the poster for “The Handmaiden” is no exception. It certainly adds values to the room you decorate with it.
