For the love of film! I mean I support you Hugh on almost anything. Want to go ride a horse across a desolate land for 3 hours and I’m with ya, but when I hear the words “script” and “Wolverine” I get a little nervous. At least we have a different crew on board for this film and only one writer to boot! As we’ve known for some time, writer Christopher McQuarrie has decided to tackle to un-tacklable and has completed a Wolverine 2 script. He himself has turned in great work (The Usual Suspects) and not so great work (Valkyrie), so it’s still up the air as to what we can expect from this film.

Earlier this year, 20th Century Fox received a major blow when their upcoming release X-Men: Origins: Wolverine leaked onto the internet. Not only was there a copy out there for everyone to see, but it was an unfinished version that lacked major special effects. According to CNET, the FBI has finally made an arrest in the longstanding case.

How is this possible? I thought we all agreed that X-Men Origins: Wolverine belonged in a poo pile along with several other Fox comic based movies? The newly released DVD did monumentally well when it hit store shelves this past week. The title came in at number one on both the sales and rental charts for the week ending in September 20th.

Following a Labor Day hiatus, the DVD Releases return just in time to discuss the first summer disappointment of the year as Wolverine hits shelves.
Luckily, there’s also plenty of TV on DVD to wet silver-disced appetites and, as always, the three worst DVDs of the week.

With the current climate of Marvel Entertainment being so shaky, fans want to know what’s going on with their favorite comic based franchises. Two titles at the top of the Marvel list are Deadpool and the upcoming Wolverine sequel. It’s already been set in stone that a sequel to this summer’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine is happening, and a writer has just been confirmed. According to /Film, Christopher McQuarrie will pen the screenplay for what we’re tentively calling Wolverine 2. After the sorry excuse that passed for a script the last time around, there’s nowhere to go from here but up.

I’m going to shift focus from the film that wrapped up the 2009 summer blockbuster season (G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra) to the one that kicked it off, X-Men Origins: Wolverine. According to /Film, star and producer Hugh Jackman has recently dropped a few hints regarding the upcoming sequel to the hit. He already acknowledged with one of the two surprise endings of the film that Wolvie would be heading to Japan, but now he’s opened up about its current stage of development.

Here are a few more photos from the Comic-Con exhibition floor. We got a shot of an official poster for the animated film Planet 51, as well as a statue of He-Man, and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. The Wolverine statue is made out of wax, and I’m surprised he hasn’t melted in all this San Diego heat. The air conditioning system is barely cutting it.
Stay tuned for more photos from the first official day of the convention.
