Early last year, it was announced that Ralph Fiennes would direct and star in a modern day adaptation of Shakespeare’s Coriolanus. Production began on the film early last spring and includes the acting talents of Gerard Butler, William Hurt, and Vanessa Redgrave. Several photos from the shoot have surfaced online and they have a Black Hawk Down /The Hurt Locker feel to them. Take a look and tell us what you think…

I begin this review with a sigh… Ridley Scott’s latest action-adventure ride Robin Hood starring Russel Crowe and Cate Blanchett has a number of amazing aspects to it, but as a whole it’s just not enjoyable. These are the reviews I hate because I can see the craftsmanship that went into the film and I want to love it, but I don’t. Technically all the pieces are there, it was well made, well put together, but with a run-time of 140 minutes and too many details, it felt like sitting through a partially real history lesson with some amazing action sequences.
Lets take a deeper look inside…

The release of Arthur Cohn’s latest project, The Yellow Handkerchief, is the serendipitous product of what one person’s international success can maneuver. This particular individual is everyone’s favorite disaffected teen, Kristen Stewart, who stars in this Ugayan Prasad directed film. With an outstanding cast that includes both Maria Bello, William Hurt and Eddie Redmayne, The Yellow Handkerchief definitely strays from the conventional blockbuster release – but certainly holds a message worth hearing.

The legendary six-time Oscar winner Arthur Cohn teamed up with British director Udayan Prasad to produce The Yellow Handkerchief, an indie drama hitting theaters nationwide this weekend. The film highlights the lives of three strangers who, through an odd series of events, end up on a road trip through post-Katrina Louisiana in search of a little livin’.
The film was shot two years ago, so it’s easy to assume that the only thing responsible for scoring it’s distribution is the international recognition of co-star Kristen Stewart, who plays Martine, a disaffected teen. Thanks, Twilight! Still, the rest of the cast is pretty stellar with William Hurt, Maria Bello, and Eddie Redmayne whom we had the privilege of sitting down with at a recent press conference.

Looks like Kristen Stewart is trying to differentiate herself from the Twilight series with a Southern drama, a deep Southern accent, and a all-star, Academy Award nominated cast. This is the first I’ve heard of The Yellow Handkerchief although apparently it’s been making it’s way around festivals for some time and finally found a release date. Samuel Goldywn has just released the first official trailer and poster and has been marketing as a “Kristen Stewart film” but I’m more excited about the supporting cast which includes William Hurt, Maria Bello and Eddie Redmayne.
The film was directed by Udayan Prasad, produced by Arthur Cohn, and loosely based on a short story by renowned writer Pete Hamill. Sounds like it’s the little indie that could thanks to Stewarts recent stardom. Check out the poster and trailer below…

Another notable actor has joined the cast of Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood adaptation. According to THR, Academy Award winner William Hurt has just signed on to co-star in the film. I will admit I was a bit surprised to hear about his casting since they’ve already begun production over in the U.K. Either way, Hurt will join fellow Oscar winner’s Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett who co-star as Robin Hood and Maid Marian respectively.
Find out more on Hurt’s character after the jump.
