It was just confirmed that the Weinstein Company dropped $3 million on Abe Sylvia’s Dirty Girl at The Toronto International Film Festival following it’s first screening. Apparently once is enough if you’re a Weinstein! The film stars the soon to well known Juno Temple alongside Jeremy Dozier, Milla Jovovich, William H. Macy, Mary Steenburgen, Dwight Yoakam and Tim McGraw.

Robert Rodriguez is partially known for his family oriented adventure movies such as The Spy Kids Trilogy and The Adventures of Sharkboy & Lavagirl. His new film Shorts falls in line with his previous features and is filled with kid friendly action. As a father of five children, the director was inspired by his own kids to tell this latest story.
His son Rebel, who stars in his newest adventure helped dream up Shorts. He even came up with the title. “Rebel said, ‘It’s called Shorts because the stories are short, the kids are short and they wear shorts.” The film stars Jon Cryer, William H. Macy, Leslie Mann, James Spader, Jimmy Bennett and Kat Dennings.

From writer/director Brian Hecker we get a new comedy that’s just what I’ve been looking for. Bart got a Room is about a nerdy high school senior Danny (Steven Kaplan) who has everything for prom, a hotel room, a limo a tux, but he’s missing one thing — a date. Add to the mix two completely clueless parents desperate to give him advice, played by William H. Macy and Cheryl Himes and you’ve got a potential winner!
