As we reported earlier, Disney is planning to remake their first live action film, that was originally released in 1954. The above photo is the first production still from the Adam Sandler, Judd Apatow comedy, Funny People. The movie follows George Simmons (Sandler), a terminally ill, yet highly successful comedian who befriends a young up and comer named Ira (Seth Rogen). Leslie Mann portrays Sandler’s love interest Laura, who happens to be married to Erica Bana’s character, Clarke. What a soap opera. Notice the uncomfortable stares in this shot? Is it just me or is Seth Rogen looking directly at the camera? Funny People hits theaters on July 31.

Ever since the show was canceled in 2006, there has been speculation of a feature film in the works. Over at Fancast they had the opportunity to ask the shows creator and executive producer Mitch Hurwitz about the possibility of an Arrested Development movie.

Sometimes studios can really take logic out of movie making for the sake of making a buck. We heard rumors earlier this year of a prequel being made to the Will Smith blockbuster I Am Legend. It sounded pretty decent, and according to Cinematical, Smith himself had come up with a plausible story for the film.
“Smith is actually the one who developed the initial story. It took place several years before the original film and there were still pockets of survivors and the story centered around Smith interacting, bonding, and ultimately failing to save them.”
