Some films are so well made they can stand the test of time and the 1941 classic Suspicion is definitely one of them. It stars Joan Fontaine and Carey Grant and is one of the best mystery-thrillers ever adapted. Unfortunately, according to a report from Latino Review, a remake is in the works and Will Smith is the front-runner to produce and star (insert sad face here).
With the new year comes a new batch of development rumors regarding the latest happenings in Hollywood. This story centers on two powerhouse actors Denzel Washington and Will Smith, possibly joining forces for a remake of the Sidney Poitier flick, Uptown Saturday Night. Can you dig that?
This will come as music to some fans ears this morning as news has surfaced that the long developing adaptation of the film, Old Boy is no more. For months it’s been stated that super producer and director Steven Spielberg had the project in his sights along with actor Will Smith, but according Latino Review it doesn’t look like the film is happening, so lets start the parade.

A few set photos have been released from the upcoming reimagining of the eighties classic The Karate Kid. The new film entitled, The Kung Fu Kid, stars Jaden Smith in the lead role as a troubled youth, and Jackie Chan as his martial arts mentor, Mr. Han. Over at SpoilerTV they’ve posted several photos of what looks like an intense training session between student and teacher.
One things for sure, Chan is no Mr. Miyagi.
Shortly after two writers were hired to pen the script for Hancock 2, director Peter Berg has confirmed the film’s main cast. Over at MTV, they recently spoke to Berg about the sequel and whether or not all the original stars would make a return. Will Smith’s appearance is a given, and at this point so is Charlize Theron’s, so Jason Bateman can’t be too far behind can he?
Even though I didn’t despise Bad Boys 2 as much as the rest of the world, I’m surprised by this latest development. According to THR, a third Bad Boys film is in the works. The last time we saw Will Smith and Martin Lawrence team up for the buddy cop film was back in 2003. Columbia Pictures plans to reignite the franchise, and have hired a writer to help them do it.
As we all knew, a movie as successful as Hancock ($624 million worldwide, $225 at the US box office alone), with an actor like Will Smith, wouldn’t go long without a sequel. As of tonight, Columbia has hired two new writers to get hash out a sequel, about the boozy, irresponsible superhero. Adam Fierro and Glen Mazzara are the two lucky men who will responsible for bringing the film back to life.
Do we need a follow up to last year’s Hancock? I mean really? Can’t we all agree that it was an OK movie, and move on? According to the SciFi Wire, the film’s director Peter Berg has more story to tell, and he’s spilling the beans on Hancock 2.
