Get ready to get out the tissues for the extremely edgy, powerful drama Beautiful Boy. Unlike the title may suggest, this is not a sweet, love story; this is a dark tale that begins with a lot of ugliness and takes on a number of painfully serious and real issues. The film shows the journey of a married couple trying to stay together after their own son has done the unthinkable. How first time theatrical feature film director Shawn Ku finds the beauty in the story will be what potentially make the film great .

Remember “Everybody Loves Raymond”? The show that apparently everyone watched, and yet I don’t know a single soul who has watched it? Well it’s been one of the most popular sitcoms ever that took a small idea and appealed to the masses. It’s sweet, charming, has a lot of slapstick comedy and overall was loved by a generation (or so I’ve read). Many of us hear about TV shows being remade for over seas, but rarely to we get to see the entire process of what that takes.

As much as it can be fun to hate on rom-coms/wedding movies (they’re just so cliched and by the numbers), there’s something about Bridesmaids that makes it feel a little bit more unique than all the rest. It feels as if it is stepping just enough outside of the box to be interesting to more than just 18-35 year-old spinsters needing to cry in a theater. The reviews coming out of SXSW all seem to agree (check out Movielines, JoBlo, IndieWire for reviews) and the latest trailer released only confirms that….

After Wolverine, there was some hope that 20th Century Fox was going to steer their X-Men franchise into better hands when writer/director Mathew Vaughn took the helm for X-Men: First Class. With a cast including Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, January Jones, and academy award nominee Jennifer Lawrence, if nothing else, First Class seemed a step in the right direction. But then word leaked of late-in-the-game reshoots, and – for a film that’s due out in less than three months – there’s only recently been a teaser trailer and some posters that were strictly amateur hour. The first trailer offered a long prologue and some quick cut footage, but now’s there’s a Russian trailer with even more footage, a different focus and absolutely no English dialogue. Take a look…

There’s no doubt about it, you can’t stay away from Charlie Sheen –and he wouldn’t want you to, I mean just look at all the chaos, offers, material and MONEY he’s been making. Jump aboard the train to insanity and enjoy the view! It’s like watching the Truman Show only he wants to be watched. I think the camera’s glare is the only thing keep him alive, it powers him! At first I thought, “leave the poor guy alone” but then I started watching and realized I myself was glued to the Charlie Sheen express headed straight for a wall! But until then, it’s time for some good old self-mocking and a few recipes to go with it…

Another promo has been released for the new Fox show “Terra Nova.” The first footage from the series was revealed in a TV spot during this year’s Super Bowl. At the time, we were underwhelmed by what we saw. It looked like an extremely dated version of Jurassic Park (the movie still holds up!) mixed with some Avatar creatures. Since our first exposure to “Terra Nova” was such a negative one, we were hoping that this would turn the tide but it didn’t.
Check out the new Fox promo and see for yourself…
