nick cc winding Comic Con2011: Director Nicolas Winding Refn for Drive Video Interview

Yesterday, ScreenCrave had the pleasure of being able to sit down with the bold and visionary director, Nicolas Winding Refn at this years Comic-Con while he was promoting his film Drive after sharing a panel with Guillermo del Toro and his film Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark. An odd combination when you think of the films, but not the filmmakers. Though Refn is far less likely to make a “crap in your paints” joke/comment, he and del Toro both thrive on originality and creating a world of their own for audiences to enjoy. Watch our interview with him below where we primarily talk to him about his film Drive, but also his up and coming collaborations with Ryan Gosling, including the possibility of Logan’s RunContinue Reading

epci or bust5 30 11 Epic or Bust Premiere: Dark Knight Rises, Hunger Games, Franco

ScreenCrave has a new little treat in store for you wonderful folks out there, one in which we need your opinion on. We know how much you enjoy all the different types of videos we have for you, so we’ve begun a partnership with the makers of a webseries called “Epic or Bust” which brings you the latest on popular movie news with host Simone Boyce. Though we also are working with “The Indie Angle”, this show is much more about what’s going on with “big” news (which Boyce explains better than I ever could).

For this week’s premiere episode she talks about Christopher Nolan‘s Dark Knight Rises, the eagerly awaited Hunger Games with one of our ScreenCrave favorites Jennifer Lawrence, one of the oddest casting choices we’ve seen in a long time, James Franco as “The Great and Powerful” and much more…

tintintrailer5 17 11 Tintin Trailer Online Spielberg Knows How to Make a Trailer

The trailer for Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson’s upcoming collaboration of the mega-minds, The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn has officially hit the web with a splash! One thing is for damn sure, Spielberg knows how to put together a trailer that will get you excited no matter what you feel about his recent work or any biases you might have against the project. The visuals, the fast-paced clips, and the music all wash over you and leave you filled with a sense of excitement and wonder that make you want to go on the adventure! This is a lesson in good advertising if nothing else.

We’ve seen photos of Jamie Bell as Tintin, Andy Serkis as Captain Haddock, Nick Frost and Simon Pegg as the Thompson Twins, and Silk the thief, who’s played by Toby Jones, which have impressed us many times over, but now it’s time to see them in action.  Check out the trailer…

New Trailer For Sundance Winner: Circumstance

circumstance1 19 11 New Trailer For Sundance Winner: Circumstance

One of my top five picks of this years Sundance film festival (read review) and the winner of the 2011 Sundance Audience Award, Circumstance is finally working its way into theaters.

The film has a unique look at at the normally unseen world of a lesbian couple trying to find their way to be together in modern day Iran. Unlike what you may expect, the film is filled with color, life, music, sex, drugs and most importantly, the desire to express ones self. There is so much life and potential for freedom — until suddenly it’s all taken away. Watch the trailer now…

New Green Lantern Trailer – Que the Green Special Effects!

green lantern5 3 11 New Green Lantern Trailer Que the Green Special Effects!

Well, well, well. It’s about time that we got the new trailer for The Green Lantern with a more intense look at the characters, more special effects, and more, more. After watching this trailer, it’s obvious that this film will be relying heavily of special effects, so much so that I’m not sure how much acting Ryan Reynolds will be able to do — though I’m sure if given the chance to charm or entertain he won’t fail to do so, but will he be given enough of the opportunity to make the film worthwhile?

Check out the trailer and tell us what you think….

New Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 Trailer

harrypotter4 28 11 New Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 Trailer

Despite the highs and lows that the Harry Potter series has taken, despite the different imaginings of different directors, despite all the hype being built up for this one final film and all the critics arguing over which film is the best and why this new film will be this or that; when I hear John Williams subtle yet strong theme seep onto the screen, no matter what anyone has said, or even what I’ve said, I can’t help get chills down my spine. The finale for Harry Potter has been a long time coming, this is a story that we’ve lived with for a decade, with seven films down and only one left to go.

After it all, while watching this latest trailer I can’t help but be filled with the same sense of awe and wonder that I can still recall back in 2001 when I saw the first trailer for the first film. Wow…

Hesher Devin Brochu as T.J. 4 12 09 kc Trailer: Hesher Time for Some Rock N Roll Baby!

Director Spencer Susser is ready to rock your world, with one of the most bad-ass, hardcore films of the year, Hesher starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Devin Brochu, Rainn Wilson, Piper Laurie and actress/producer Natalie Portman. The film was bought out at Sundance in 2010 by Newmarket and has taken its sweet time working its way into theaters, maybe it’s because of Natalie Portman’s recent popularity/winning streak but for some reason it’s finally found it’s way in and I for one say fuck yeah. Check out the trailer below…

New Clips from Hanna: Cate Blanchette and Scary Germans

hamma cate3 31 11 New Clips from Hanna: Cate Blanchette and Scary Germans

Two new clips for Joe Wright‘s action-packed thriller Hanna have just been sent over from Focus and they’ve got some great moments in them that you have to check out. The film stars one of the most talented young actresses currently working today, Academy Award nominee Saoirse Ronan (The Lovely Bones, Atonement) as Hanna with Eric Bana and Cate Blanchette in supporting roles, and Tom Hollander is one of his creepiest performances to date. In the clips you get to see a lot of the set up that makes the film so great. The action is fun, but it’s the characters that keep us interested and this film has a ton of “colorful” characters. Check them out below…
