David O. Russell’s next film project is the undertaking of the video game adaptation Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. The helmer is experiencing a surge in his career due to the popularity of The Fighter and all its Oscar nominations, but fans haven’t been as receptive to his take on Uncharted. People aren’t too keen about Mark Wahlberg playing Nathan Drake, and we can only imagine their response to who Russell has in mind to play Elena.

It’s no secret that a lot of people have issues with David O. Russell’s developing adaptation of Uncharted: Drake Fortune. From what we’ve heard it heavily deviates from the storyline of the video game and adds multiple characters who either don’t exist or don’t have major parts in the original story. There’s also the issue of Mark Wahlberg being cast as Nathan Drake. He’s not a horrible actor but fans are having a hard time viewing him as the character.
There have been a lot of flip-flop reports confirming and denying the actor’s casting in the film with the latest coming from Moviehole. The man himself has once again stated that he’s still on for Uncharted and so are Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci!

Last week we learned that Mark Wahlberg was set to take on the lead role in the video game adaptation Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. The film will be written and directed by David O. Russell and possibly co-star Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci as Drake’s extended family. If that doesn’t sound like a volatile group of characters we don’t know what does. Mark Wahlberg is keeping himself busy with a lot of projects but we know for a fact that The Crow reboot won’t be one of them. On a lighter note, he has confirmed plans to star in another highly anticipated adaptation, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune! Dun! Dun! Dun!
