Did you enjoy the oh-so-palpable tension of last week’s episode of “True Blood?” Then you’re in luck: “I’m Alive And On Fire” only builds on all the drama and intrigue introduced in the first three episodes of the season. Once again, HBO serves up a tremendous episode chock full of everything that makes “True Blood” the sexy, funny, grip-the-edge-of-your-seat wild ride that it is. As long as the fourth season continues at this pace, you won’t hear too many complaints from me.

With every summer, fans of “True Blood” have come to expect the series to outdo its previous season and step up its game even more, as if that were even possible. As it turns out, it is definitely possible, and “True Blood” is absolutely crushing with its first three episodes of season four. HBO follows up two solid episodes with a third outstanding hour of all the sexy, gory, vampire-y goodness that makes us ask, “Is it Sunday yet?” every night of the week.

This week, “True Blood” is all about adjustment. We accompany Sookie as she comes to terms with all the changes in Bon Temps, although some are certainly easier to handle than others. While the season premiere offered a series of character-focused vignettes featuring the show’s protagonists in their new situations, this second episode drives forward with more of the juicy plot for which we’ve been waiting all these long months. HBO delivers the goods and then some, leaving this particular Truebie extremely satisfied.

The supernatural saga of Sookie Stackhouse continues as “True Blood” heads into its fourth season. When last we left Bon Temps, quite a bit had happened to its denizens: Bill attempted to destroy both Russell and Eric, Sam shot Tommy, Sophie-Ann and Bill commenced a brutal battle to the death and we learned of Sookie’s own paranormal origins. Could the season four opener possibly measure up to all that? Well, read on to find out! (hint: the answer is yes.)

Over the weekend, the cast of HBO’s hit vampire drama “True Blood” took to the stage at the annual PaleyFest in Beverly Hills, California. Not only were the primary actors in attendance but the supporting cast as well. That means all 16 of them were in the same place at the same time. That’s a lot of vampires, werewolves, fairies, and witches don’t you think? The cast was joined by creator and writer Alan Ball, who teased the audience about what they can expect from season 4…

It’s been a long time since we’ve heard anything about HBO’s “True Blood.” The vampire series has been on hiatus since last year, but during the down time its casting producers have been working like dogs — or should we say werewolves? The bloated cast continues to grow with the addition of another Lycan according to TVLine.

Well, it finally happened: I accidentally saw an art film at Sundance. Many people think that because a film is independently made, that it must be an art film. And sure, a lot of these films are finely crafted and contain a great deal of subtext, or stand as an allegory for one thing or another. But the majority of films we’ve seen at the festival have been straightforward narrative films with a more or less traditional style of storytelling. This is certainly not true of Calvin Lee Reeder’s The Oregonian. This demented collection of grotesque images and sounds, starring True Blood’s Lindsay Pulsipher, is one of this year’s most aggressively confrontational films. To find out more about one of the most difficult films to sit through at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, check out the rest of the review after the jump…

HBO’s adding new cast members to their upcoming fourth season of “True Blood,” again. How do we put this delicately? Stop it! How many were-panthers, witches, and warlocks are we supposed to accept next year? According to Deadline, two more actors have joined the cast, which further confirms our greatest fear. “True Blood” is getting closer and closer to jumping the shark.
