Now that Tom Cruise is wrapping up Mission Impossible 47: Remember When I Didn’t Creep You Guys Out? Could We Go Back To That? and is set to complete filming on Rock of Ages later this year, it’s time to predict what film Cruise will do next, mainly because I like to pretend that it’s 1996 and anyone still cares (it’s a weird hobby, I know). And /Film points out that one possibility is the Tropic Thunder spinoff featuring Cruise’s shockingly funny turn as Les Grossman, Hollywood superagent.

Hello all! We are back this week with more cheap movies for you to check out. For all you Harry Potter fans out there, you can get box sets of six of the films for less that $10 a DVD. The majority of these films are perfect for “lazy day” movie watching. They are the kind of solid movies that can be watched multiple times over and still enjoyed. Of course tastes differ, but luckily we’ve got a wide variety for a cheap price!

If there’s was one person in Hollywood you could choose to train you in a technique of martial arts who would it be? I’d go for Jet Li, Jackie Chan, or Jason Statham, but director Gavin O’Connor prefers his mentors more on the weathered side. According to FirstShowing, O’Connor has cast Nick Nolte as the lead in his MMA centered film, Warrior. Nolte will play “an ex-Vietnam vet boxer-turned-steel mill worker whose family was torn apart by his alcoholism.” Sounds like a role he was born to play.

I don’t pay attention to major fashion magazines. I’m more into film trades or a good novel from time to time. Yet, every once in a while there’s that “special edition” or “collector’s issue” that comes out and gets me every time. This year my guilty pleasure is the latest issue of Vanity Fair. The above photo is just one of the many satirical images that feature some of today’s most popular funny men and women. The magazine highlights who they consider to be the new comedy legends of this generation. Some of their picks include actors who’ve just made their mark in recent years, while others have been around for ages.
More on Vanity Fair and the comedy legends photo spread after the jump.

NEW FEATURES
“WALL-E”
Pixar’s latest animated triumph hits DVD today in both a standard release and a three-disc collector’s edition.
This is an absolute must-buy and the best movie of the year to this point. More than that, it’s a celebration of movies in general as its main character, a lovable robot, expresses itself through old Hollywood musicals when his beeps and chirps fail him. Fan of cartoons or not, this is an essential addition to any DVD collection.

Last night in Westwood the Tropic Thunder premiere went off without a hitch (aside from a few silly protesters). LA.CityZine was lucky enough to be in attendance and here are some shots of your favorite faces to walk the carpet including Robert Downey Jr. (who seems to be hiding behind Ben Stiller at times), Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, Tobey Maguire, Amy Adams, Jodi Foster, Jena Malone’s new haricut and many more.
Keep an eye out on LA.CityZine for more red carpet coverage coming soon, including interviews from the carpet! Also, check out our review of the film now!
