The penultimate episode of seaon 2 of “Treme” saw a lot of conflicts growing between characters, with a few minor resolutions for others. Of course, it delivers viewers with a solid hour of tremendously enjoyable television, but we get the sense that for some of these people, things are going to get a lot worse before they get better. “Treme” is perhaps the best drama on TV right now, and last night’s episode was a strong reminder of that fact. Even with Mardi Gras out of the way, there was plenty of story to tell, with several characters being forced to deal with emotional drama that placed tremendous demands on the actors involved. Luckily, the cast of this show is peerless, and as such, we were treated to some stellar performances.
“Treme” has been going strong during its second season, and while much like “The Wire“, we feel as though this might be the kind of show that is best enjoyed on DVD, when we can watch several episodes in succession, we still look forward to every Sunday night when it returns to screens. The people behind the new HBO series “Treme” are probably dancing in the street right now because the network has decided to renew the show for a second season. This may come as a surprise to some considering it just premiered this past Sunday. We’re not sure what’s in the water over at the Home Box Office network but obviously they liked what they saw and they want more.
