Production on Transformers 3 is well underway and it’s taking over the Midwest. When they shot 2009′s Revenge of the Fallen they traveled all over the world, including the scorching deserts of Egypt yet this time they’re keeping it local. The Michael Bay film will hit up the Windy and the Motor City this summer for the latest installment.

Michael Bay and the rest of the Transformers crew are well into production on the third and (supposedly) final installment in the film series. While shooting, a few behind the scenes photos have appeared online featuring Shia Labeouf and his new leading lady Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, as well as Tyrese Gibson. Michael Bay is proud of the latest addition to his Transformers family and he wants everyone in the world to know it. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was recently cast as Megan Fox’s replacement in the third film and the super model’s other employer, Victoria Secret thought it would be a good idea to put out a video congratulating her. If that wasn’t grand enough, Bay also took to his official website and welcomed the “actress” to the series.

Michael Bay is so predictable. Sources are reporting that the front runner to replace Megan Fox in Transformers 3 is a Victoria’s Secret model named, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. When the news of Fox’s departure first broke several actresses and models were named as possible replacements such as Bar Refaeli, Gemma Arterton, and Brooklyn Decker. Now, Whiteley has come out of left field leaving the rest of the competition in the dust!

Update: Fox just released a statement claiming it was her decision to leave the film.
For all of you who complained about Megan Fox’s non-acting self in Transformers and Revenge of the Fallen, she’s no longer a problem. The actress won’t be returning to star in the sequel Transformers 3 according to a recent confirmation from Paramount Studios. We guess Fox’s mouth finally wrote a check her ass couldn’t cash!
