It’s been almost two years since Michael Bay’s Transformers Revenge of the Fallen hit theaters and people are still recovering from it. The film was a box office success but critically it was panned six ways from Sunday. Fanboys who anxiously awaited its released were even turned off by the lame story. After the dust settled, Bay and star Shia Labeouf acknowledged that there were some issues with the sequel that they couldn’t deny. Now that the third film Transformers Dark of the Moon is upon us, it’s time to really clear the air.

You know a movie is bad when one of its stars openly admits it. Recently, Shia Labeouf has decided to come clean with the general public admitting that his last two blockbusters weren’t up to code. We’re talking about the overly hyped sequels Transformers Revenge of the Fallen and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of The Crystal Skull.

Will the American public ever learn? I thought we all came to the joint conclusion that Transformers Revenge of the Fallen was bad for our health? The film easily became the biggest blockbuster this summer even with its scathing reviews from both critics and fans, but I thought we were done with them? According to Home Media Magazine , ROTF hit the DVD charts last week and broke records left and right, bringing in even more Autobot dough.

If you’re like me, the utter idea of watching Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen again makes your stomach turn. The sequel to the 2007 Hasbro hit was a critical dud, but a commercial success at this summer’s box office. Mostly, stemming from the built in audience of it’s predecessor. According to MTV, Paramount has announced the release date for the film on Blu-ray and traditional DVD. Find out more on the story below.

GI Joe: Rise of Cobra hits theaters today and there is a lot of pressure for the film to deliver. It’s following in the footsteps of fellow Hasbro and Paramount champion Transformers Revenge of the Fallen. A lot of people have been making unfair comparisons between the two films due to their similar roots. They both have action figures, animated series, comic books, and now live action features to their credit. Therefore, when it comes down to content, characters, and pop culture status who has the upper hand?

This weekend the serious versus the not so serious will be battling it out at the box office. Although both Public Enemies and Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs made their debut on Wednesday across North America, both films have a third “summer fun” (as Michael Bay likes to call it) film to compete against, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

Well it is no surprise, Michael Bay’s Transformers: The Revenge of the Fallen (60.0 million on the first day!!) is going to take the top spot at the box office this week. Looks like we are going to need tissues on-hand while watching Nick Cassavetes‘ film, My Sister’s Keeper starring Cameron Diaz and Abigail Breslin. A young girl with leukemia and a even younger sister who is forced to donate organs in order to have her sister survive. I’m still not sure if I like the story but whatever the case, it will be a heartfelt film.
Things seem to be depressing in the movie world this week. From a sick young girl, we go to soldiers in Iraq who have one of the most dangerous jobs in the world: disarming bombs in the heat of combat in Kathryn Bigelow’s The Hurt Locker starring Jeremy Renner and Anthony Mackie. As if, that wasn’t bad enough we then have Cyrus Nowrasteh The Stoning of Soraya M. set in 1986 Iran.
Withall that is going on in Iran right now with the deadly protest, this film seems very fitting as we see a side of Iran that has been non-existent in films until now. Oh, and haven’t we already seen the older woman going after the younger man to the dismay of his mother (Easy Virtue)? Stephen Frears Cheri seems have the same concept.

Although Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is a major success at the box office, not everyone who is seeing the film is happy about it. There has been a argument growing that Director Michael Bay‘s portrayal of the two jive-talking Chevy twin robots are racial caricatures and offensive.
Skids and Mudflap are two twin robots disguised as compact hatchbacks who are constantly fighting and who use “rap-inspired street slang” according to THR. One has a gold tooth and when pressed by Shia LaBeouf, they both tell him that they don’t know how to read.
Some viewers are calling the twins “outrageous” and “degrading” while others are saying “They were hilarious.”
When asked about the robots Bay said, “It’s done in fun. I don’t know if it’s stereotypes — they are robots, by the way.”
What do you think?

In case you were ever wondering what Leonardo DiCaprio would like as a crying Decpiticon, I made one! Yeap, that’s him above! Before you start commenting, I know he has nothing to do with Michael Bay‘s Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, but I had some Shutter Island photos hanging around and they just created a new website where you can turn yourself into a Transformer (or anyone you have a picture of)!
You have the choice of becoming Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, or Megatron, selecting the level of transfomation, and then choosing what location in the movie you want to be in!
If that doesn’t excite you, they’ve also released four new stills of Megan Fox, Shia LaBeouf, and some transformers from the film which you can see below (without my editing)…
