This weekend, the final installment in Pixar’s Toy Story series debuts in theaters but don’t be too sad, it’s not the last time you’ll see Woody, Buzz, and the rest of the gang. According to MSN, Toy Story 3 director Lee Unkrich revealed that he’s planning a big follow up that will be attached to the studio’s next animation, Cars 2.
There are many of us who feel like they’ve grown up with the toys of Toy Story 3. It’s almost as if they’ve been our toys as much as Andy’s. Woody and the gang are back for the third (and final?) installment of the series that skyrocketed Pixar to the top 15 years ago in 1995. Holy crap… I’m old. So, has Pixar done it yet again? Toy Story 3 is filled with new characters who have familiar voices like Michael Keaton’s Ken. Before having his manhood taken by Barbie, Ken was known for being a lion with the ladies. If you grew up in the nineties, Pixar’s Toy Story 3 will be a nostalgic and emotional rollercoaster. The film is directed by Lee Unkrich and is scheduled to hit theaters on June 18th. With only a couple of weeks until the big day the studio has released a huge batch of photos from the film as well as a new clip called “Great Escape.” It features actors Tom Hanks and Tim Allen explaining the latest jam that Woody and Buzz have gotten themselves into. Over the past few months Disney and Pixar have slowly but surely unveiled all 14 of the new characters that will appear in Toy Story 3. So far we’ve brought you “Trixie”, “Twitch”, “Stretch”, “Sparks,” “Mr. Pricklepants,” “Dolly,” “Buttercup“, “Lot’s-O-Huggin Bear,” and “Trixie the Triceratops.” Today the last two additions have been revealed and their names are “Bookworm” and “Big Baby.” Take a look at them and the rest of the expanded Toy Story family…
Disney has sent over six new additions to the Toy Story 3 character list. We now have some new multi-dimensional images of “Trixie”, “Twitch”, “Stretch”, “Sparks” “Mr. Pricklepants” and “Dolly” with character description to join the ones that we already have for “Buttercup“, “Lot’s-O-Huggin Bear,” and “Trixie the Triceratops“. After seeing the film over at ShoWest, I feel like I know these characters too well, I can’t trust their sweet cuddly faces.. And although there may be a lot of them, I can assure you that they all have very distinct personalities in the film and are all given their moment in the spotlight.
