What would happen if you took two of the best movies from this mediocre summer and combined them in the same trailer? Would the world explode from the large amount of awesomeness? No, but you could experience some pretty cool audio-visual swapping and you’d get to see Ken deliver dialogue like only Leonardo DiCaprio can. Are you ready for Inception-Toy Story 3? Here it is…

Woohoo! Once again Toy Story 3 tops the weekend box office list, out selling both newcomers Grown Ups (with all your favorite comedians – or so studios thought) and Knight and Day (a film that should be able to make off its money from its stars, but doesn’t seem to have yet). In a summer full of lackluster films (Prince of Persia – Bruckheimer must be firing someone) and blockbuster bombs (Jonah Hex - now that’s just painful), there’s still hope! Disney/Pixar has yet to fail in creating a classic and Toy Story 3 is no exception. The people have spoken with their wallets and its stoppable until this weekend when we get… Twilight. Ahhhh!
Check out this weeks top ten and all the many films suffering this summers wrath…

Move over summer blockbuster action flicks, there’s a new group of 3D animations in town and they’re not fucking around! First Shrek 4 wouldn’t leave the number one spot for four weeks and now Toy Story 3 dominates the former champion The Karate Kid by over three times the gross — and lets not even talk about Jonah Hex. How sad. What a great cast and what a small gross.
Check out the top ten below…

It’s true. Most sequels suck. A great franchise is a rare breed. Lucky for us that doesn’t apply to Pixar! Not yet anyway. Toy Story 3 is hitting theaters and if you’re a true Woody/Buzz Lightyear fan (like many have been since 1995), you might have found yourself snooping around for some early buzz on Pixar’s first franchise.
This time around, the playground days are over for Andy. As he packs up for college, Woody, Buzz and the rest of the gang are headed to the day-care center, or “prison,” as director Lee Unkrich compared it to in an interview. With just the plot in mind, Toy Story sounds more like a toy nightmare, and there’s nothing wrong with that, as long as it’s one hell of a nightmare.
In a recent interview with Unkrick, he told us a little more about the tone of the film…

Get ready to take a walk down memory lane with the long awaited sequel, Toy Story 3. Tom Hanks and Tim Allen return as Woody and Buzz, in an all new adventure that has them escaping a daycare. If you’re more of a comic book fan than a Pixar buff, check out Josh Brolin in Jonah Hex, the DC Comics adaptation about man with a scarred face and a scarred past.
See what else is new this weekend…

There are many of us who feel like they’ve grown up with the toys of Toy Story 3. It’s almost as if they’ve been our toys as much as Andy’s. Woody and the gang are back for the third (and final?) installment of the series that skyrocketed Pixar to the top 15 years ago in 1995. Holy crap… I’m old. So, has Pixar done it yet again? Or is the franchise getting moldy and stale (just like me)? Let’s lay it all out, shall we?
