Has Denzel Washington gotten sick of riding the Tony Scott merry-go-round? Washington was signed on to star in the upcoming action thriller Unstoppable, but according to Variety that train will never leave the station. Sources are stating that the actor officially withdrew himself from the film after waiting three months for the go ahead from 20th Century Fox. The studio is financing the film, but has been taking their sweet time to come up with a finalized budget.

Fox can’t decide between commercial director Carl Erik Rinsch, or famous British director Ridley Scott, to helm the sequel of Alien. In April it was revealed that Rinsch was thinking of doing an Alien prequel or reboot with Michael Costigan, Ridley Scott, and Tony Scott as producers, but now 20th century Fox is not too happy with the idea of having a first-time director as the leader of another Alien—they want Ridley Scott.

I would love to yell out a resounding “why” to the sky, but no one would hear me or care. There is nothing new about the 1979 film The Warriors getting remade, but attached director Tony Scott has recently made some statements as to how he plans on revising the film for the 21st century. Quite honestly his interpretation is terrifying, just terrifying! According to /Film, Scott wants to move the setting from New York to Los Angeles, focusing on the gang culture on the west coast.

The idea of there being another Alien film has been going on forever. We’ve heard rumors of sequels, remakes, reboots, re-imaginings, and everything else under the sun for the franchise that was originally spawned by director Ridley Scott. Today I’ve learned from several legitimate sources that there will be another Alien film, but it will be a prequel. Director Tony Scott has just decided on his next project to follow up this summer’s The Taking of Pelham 1, 2, 3. According to Variety, Scott is teaming up with Fox to direct an action thriller entitled Unstoppable. Both he and the studio are looking to fast track the production so the flick will be ready to shoot by later this year. The film centers on a runaway train that’s carrying a shipment of toxic chemicals. As if that wasn’t bad enough the engineer and conductor are in a “race against time” to save innocent lives that hang in the balance!
