Rumor alert! Rumor alert! There’s word spreading across the web that Leonardo DiCaprio and fellow actor and childhood friend Tobey Maguire are remaking, The Third Man. Over at Chud, they’re regarding it as a rumor but an interesting one none the less. They believe that the Hollywood duo will star in a revamp of the 1949 original that was directed by Carol Reed.

Quite possibly the three most talked about (and over-rated) films and TV shows of the year, New Moon, “True Blood,” and “Battlestar Galactica” will be taking over the 2009 Scream Awards! Vampires seem to be ruling everything these days, so why not dedicate an event to them!
SCREAM will celebrate the year of the vampire craze with the cast of New Moon introducing yet ANOTHER world premiere of more, never-been-seen-before footage from the film. Although they have not given the names of which cast members will be present, I’m sure we can expect to see the usual trio of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.

Stars of the HBO series True Blood have been getting a lot of work recently. First Deborah Ann Woll, then Stephen Moyer, and now Sam Trammell has got a film gig. If you’re not an avid viewer of the show, Trammell’s character is a shape shifting bar owner. It sounds weird off the cuff, but in their world it’s normal. According to Empire, his next role will have him starring opposite Laura Linney, Tobey Maguire and Elizabeth Banks in the indie comedy The Details.

As I write this post I am in shock and disbelief. There’s going to be a Spiderman 5 and 6?!! What is going on right now? Spiderman 4 has always been a redemption project in my eyes, so I let it slide under the radar. Yet according to Variety, a writer by the of James Vanderbilt has been hired to pen the 5th and the 6th installment of the web slinging franchise. Why would they do something like this you ask?

Last week we posted the first trailer to the Jim Sheridan drama Brothers. The film is a remake of the 2004 film by Susanne Bier entitled, Brodre. In this English language version, Tobey Maguire, Natalie Portman, and Jake Gyllenhaal find themselves in an unexpected love triangle. The film centers on a young wife and mother (Portman) trying to put her life back together after her husband (Maguire) goes missing in Afghanistan. With the help of his younger brother (Gyllenhaal) things begin to fall back in place, that is until her husband makes a surprise return from the presumed dead.

The star of the Spider-Man franchise Tobey Maguire will star in Director Jacob Estes‘ upcoming indie black comedy film titled The Details.
According to Variety, Maguire will join Elizabeth Banks as a married couple whose troubled marriage becomes even more complicated when trying to solve a ravenous raccoons problem in their back yard. The couple disagree on how the situation should be handled, which sets of a chain of mishaps which include a murder by bow and arrow. We have no details as to who gets murdered, but it sound like an interesting idea!

Honestly, how many of us all felt that Tobey Maguire and Jake Gyllenhaal needed to play brothers in a movie? The team up was bound to happen and it did at the hands of director Jim Sheridan. Brothers is the aptly titled film about a young wife and mother (Natalie Portman), who tries to put her life back together after her husband (Maguire) goes missing in Afghanistan.
