The country hasn’t been this divided since the infamous Team Edward versus Team Jacob phenomenon, because no one can escape the war that’s brewing in late night TV. For the most part, viewers are unanimously behind current “Tonight Show” host Conan O’Brien who recently gave NBC an ultimatum regarding his gig on the show. If they push it back a half an hour to accommodate another series for Jay Leno, he’s out. After all the hoopla that’s being generated, some reports are stating that Leno might finally take the hint and leave the network for good.

Conan O’Brien continues to bring the pain with his full on assault of NBC and their executives. Earlier today he put his foot down and stated that he wouldn’t continue hosting “The Tonight Show” if they pushed it back a half an hour. In a lengthy letter posted on the New York Times website he openly gave them an ultimatum for the whole world to see, and in the monologue for this evening’s taping he let them have it.

It’s time to put your boxing gloves on because Cone Bone aka Conan O’Brien is not laying down for NBC, Jay Leno, or anybody else. “The Tonight Show” host recently sent in a letter to the New York Times giving an ultimatum to the peacock network. After the February 12th cancellation of “The Jay Leno Show,” NBC is toying with the idea of pushing it back to the 11:35 time slot for a half an hour program. This would make it a lead in to a 12:05 Conan, which the red haired host isn’t happy about. If the network continues on this path, O’Brien has given them notice that he will walk. How did it get to this point?

We knew this would happen sooner or later. NBC continues to play around with both Jay Leno and Conan O’Brien‘s late night futures and the hosts aren’t going to take it anymore. The network has stated that they want to keep Leno on their roster even though they’re canceling his show at its 10 pm slot on February 12th. Their new preliminary plan is to have it air for half an hour, followed by an hour long “Tonight Show,” and guess what Conan said f*ck that!
