The Simpsons Reviews, Interviews & More
The big release this week is The Dark Knight Rises, but there’s something for everyone this week, from hidden gems, to stone cold masterpieces. Animated films, great directors delivering minor classics, to indie films no one cared about, and ones that could be Oscar spoilers. Like we said, it’s a good week for DVD and Blu-ray.
Family Guy—it’s the funniest, most original cartoon on television, after South Park, The Simpsons, Aqua Something You Know Whatever (formerly Aqua Teen Hunger Force), all other Adult Swim original programming, Bob’s Burgers, King of the Hill reruns, and Looney Tunes reruns. ...
Well, chalk up another celebrity endorsement for Governor Mitt Romney and another blow against President Barack Obama. Coming quick on the heels of Avengers director Joss Whedon’s endorsement of Mitt Romney’s probable zombie apocalypse, Mr. Burns (that’s right, of The Simpsons fame) has come out to hand a soul-blackened endorsement to...
Saturday's Comic-Con panel for The Simpsons followed Matt Groening's big win of the 2012 Icon Award, so yeah...a tough act to follow. Despite that, the panel (moderated by former Executive Producer, David Mirkin) brought the sweetness. And Carrie Fishcer, for some reason. Attendees were given "Bart" headbands at the door and it was a little diffiuclt to take that as anything...
Short films before movies are back! At least for animated films. It feels like Pixar kicked off this trend, which also proved a good testing ground for animators before taking on feature-length projects, and now it's become almost expected from an animated feature. Now The Simpsons have gotten in on the act.
A new 3D Simpsons four-minute short film featuring Maggie Simpson will play in front of Ice Age: Continental Drift when the film opens on July 13. Why Maggie? Well, according to executive producer Al Jean: “It’s hard to do a 20-minute Maggie episode, but in four minutes it’s great. She’s like Charlie Chaplin.” More details after the jump.
Well, it’s that time of year again, when TV networks decide which TV programs are profitable enough to save, and which are unsuccessful enough to deserve a summary execution. Up for the chopping block this year were such shows of wildly varying quality like The Office, Nikita, Parks and Recreation, Whitney, Community, Awake, and many, many...
At a recent South By Southwest panel, Family Guy creator Seth McFarlane made an appearance entitled “A Conversation with Seth McFarlane,” in which he discussed not only his career, but the his upcoming reboot of the The Flinstones TV series. He also noted that the new Flintstones cartoon will be a lot like The Simpsons...
2012 is now looming around the corner, and with it comes another year of TV watching (if you’re like us, that is). Unfortunately, though, for every Breaking Bad, Mad Men, or Boardwalk Empire, there are about a dozen clunkers that just keep rolling onward, shows which should have ended years ago. With that in mind, we here at ScreenCrave decided to group...
Making a move that will pretty much engender the hatred of, well, probably just about everyone, it appears as if the Fox network will be attempting to bring the axe down on the long-running The Simpsons cartoon. Why? As is the case with almost all things—money.
In what may be the best news since the creation of, well, existence itself, /Film has it that Fox is mulling the creation of a channel that would broadcast nothing but episodes of The Simpsons. Seriously—the long running cartoon that will soon air its 500th (!) episode, may get its own network.
Well, maybe, that is.
"The Simpsons" can't and won't be stopped! The animated series is the most successful spin-off of all time, as well as the longest running comedy in television history. According to the Fox Network, they've just renewed the series for another year, which will bring its grand total to 23 seasons. Who would have thought that Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie would have lasted...
We knew this would happen sooner or later. Robert Pattinson and Daniel Radcliffe have somehow morphed into the same person -- sort of. Both actors headline lucrative and youth driven film franchises with Twilight and Harry Potter, and they both have die hard fans all over the world. But what would happen if they switched places? What if...
On Sunday night, "The Simpsons" started off on a dark note. A really, dark note. The opening credit sequence, which we all know and love was altered and blended with a blatant political statement about South Korea. It was created by a UK graffitti artist named Banksy (as you can see on Krusty's face) and what starts off as normal Simpsons' fun gets real depressing, real quick,...
Early last month, we revealed the names of all the guest stars who will appear on the upcoming season of "The Simpsons." The list included everyone from Daniel Radcliffe to Halle Berry, to the cast of "Glee." Speaking of which, we have the first photos of Lea Michele, Corey Monteith, and Amber Riley, as well...
Fox's long running series "The Simpsons" is trying everything in its power to stay relevant, according to the cast list for its 22nd season. Literally everyone and their mother will lend their voice to the show this year including Harry Potter, Dr. House, and that nerdy (yet rich) guy who created Facebook. "The Simpsons " is going viral, get ready for it. Check out the rest...
Is there anything Jon Hamm can't do? The actor is gearing up for the premiere of the fourth and highly anticipated season of "Mad Men" and he's managed to land a gig on another series. According to EW, Hamm will lend his voice to the long running Fox hit "The Simpsons" for an episode when it returns this fall. Who will he play? Find out...
Tony Soprano, Jack Bauer, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer can stick it because according to Entertainment Weekly, Homer Simpson has been crowned the greatest TV character of the past 20 years. The overweight and balding paternal figure from the long running Fox animated series "The Simpsons" is still relevant in our consciousness over 2 decades after his small screen...
During Comic-Con 2009, Guinness World Records honored the biggest names in Entertainment history in the fields of television, film and comic books. One of the biggest winners was the iconic hit animated series, The Simpsons. Matt Groening and Al Jean, who were at the event on behalf of the show, were presented with two...
