There's finally been movement on the Orphanage front, and the remake has a director in its sights. According to Variety, Mark Pellington is nearing a deal to take on the English version of the Spanish language horror film, El Orfanato, which was directed by Guillermo del Toro protege Juan Antonio Bayona.
A few months ago we told you about Guillermo del Toro's plans to remake the Spanish language horror film The Orphanage. Everything seemed to be going in the right direction, but Arrow in the Head is reporting that attached director Larry Fessenden is no longer involved with the film.
The cult Spanish language horror film, The Orphanage is getting an American makeover. The original 2007 film was directed by Guillermo del Toro protege Juan Antonio Bayona. According to THR, actor-director-producer Larry Fessenden has been hired to helm the English language adaptation of the film.
