Not only is The Karate Kid remake still happening, but it’s already begun production. So many people have been against this film since the day it was announced, but it’s too late now. According to Hollywood Outbreak, the remake of the 1984 cult classic is underway and has been officially renamed, The Kung Fu Kid. Luckily, the change in title not only further separates it from the original, but it actually makes a lot more sense in the long run.

Some people believe that films doomed by a bad script or concept can be saved by a stellar actor. In this case I’m referring to the remake/reimagining of the 1984 classic, The Karate Kid. Will Smith will be producing the flick, which will feature his son Jaden in the lead as a troubled youth named Dre. He encounters severe bullying when he is forced to move overseas to China due to his mother’s job. According to /Film, Oscar nominated actress Taraji P. Henson has just been cast in the maternal role of Sherry.

The unthinkable has happened! Mark Wahlberg has signed on to co-star in another comedy. The actor is already set to star in The B-Team opposite Will Farrell, and now he’s on to another. According to Variety, Wahlberg has joined the comedy Date Night. The film centers on a married couple who’s lives end up in danger during one of their routine “date nights.” Steve Carell and Tina Fey will star as the leads, while Wahlberg will portray a buffed up and successful securities expert who flirts with Fey’s character. As if his addition wasn’t enough, James Franco has also signed on to co-star.
