Last week it was announced that composer Hans Zimmer would write the score for the upcoming Warner Bros reboot Superman: The Man of Steel. The news swept the internet like wildfire and before you knew it everyone was excited about Zimmer’s latest gig, everybody except for the man himself. According to THR, Zimmer has no plans to score the new Superman or try to improve upon John Williams’ original work.

According to Thompson on Hollywood, Hans Zimmer has been tapped to compose the score for the film. Is Anne Hathaway the go-to girl for strong female superhero love interests? A while ago we reported that she along with a group of equally talented actresses were in the running to star in the Batman sequel, The Dark Knight Rises. She was rumored to either be a love interest for Bruce Wayne or a villain for his alter ego. Either way, nothing has been confirmed and just when we thought we were over it another rumor has caught our attention. Now the dust has settled, we should all be used to the fact that Zack Snyder will direct the next Superman. There are a lot of high hopes for this project considering the Man of Steel’s track record hasn’t been the best as of late. The last time we saw the character on the big screen was in 2006′s Superman Returns which was directed by Bryan Singer and starred Brandon Routh. Routh has expressed openly that he’d love to reprise his role in the new film but Snyder doesn’t think that’s going to happen.
