We watch a lot of movie trailers here at ScreenCrave, and, as we inch closer to summer with its ever-increasing torrent of new films, we’re seeing more and more previews with each passing day. As we do so, we can’t help but notice some similarities, repetitions, and clichés among them. Here at Trailer Park, we’ll be offering a rundown of those clichés, where they come from, and which trailers share them. For our first installment, we’ll be breaking down one of summer’s most ever-present previews: The Bromance Movie Trailer.

vanityfaircomedies Vanity Fairs Tribute to the New Kings of Comedy

I don’t pay attention to major fashion magazines. I’m more into film trades or a good novel from time to time. Yet, every once in a while there’s that “special edition” or “collector’s issue” that comes out and gets me every time. This year my guilty pleasure is the latest issue of Vanity Fair. The above photo is just one of the many satirical images that feature some of today’s most popular funny men and women. The magazine highlights who they consider to be the new comedy legends of this generation. Some of their picks include actors who’ve just made their mark in recent years, while others have been around for ages.

More on Vanity Fair and the comedy legends photo spread after the jump.

jonah NEWS: Jonah Hill to Play Oscar Winners Son

Superbad alumni Jonah Hill is nearing a deal with Fox Searchlight to star in a romantic comedy co-starring John C. Reilly and Academy Award winner Marisa Tomei.  According to Variety, Hill is eying the role of Tomei’s teenage son. Yeah, that makes me feel old too.

Story centers on a recently divorced man (Reilly) who meets the woman of his dreams (Tomei). She has a teenage son (Hill) who has no interest in sharing his mother with a new man.

adventurelan08 11 23 TRAILER: Superbad director Greg Mottolas Adventureland

Superbad director Greg Mottola introduces a trailer for his new film Adventureland. Co-starring Kristen Stewart (AKA The girl from Twilight), Ryan Reynolds, Bill Hader, Kristen Wiig and Martin Star the film is based off a rich kid who is forced to get a job at an Amusement Park. The film is set in 1987, because let’s face it, the 80′s were awesome. With plenty of awkward teenage coming of age jokes (still can’t get that “dance/grind” scene from Superbad out of my head no matter how hard I try) and a sweet little love story to boot, looks like Mottolaay may have made another awesome teen comedy for all ages.

rolemodelsreviewround up08 11 05 Making the Grade: Review of Role Models

Starring: Paul Rudd, Seann William Scott, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Bobb’e J. Thompson

Directed by: David Wain

So I went into this film with meager expectations despite the promising cast and director (Stella’s David Wain) attached to the project.  Having expected mediocrity proved to be a blessing in disguise as I was overwhelmed with the amount of laughter that Role Models was able to produce from myself and the entire audience.  And I am speaking completely on a literal level.  There was a middle-aged man in the theater that was asked to leave because he was laughing so loudly.
