Who’s ready to watch Alice in Wonderland with machine guns?! It may sound crazy but that’s how director Zack Snyder has described his latest live action film Sucker Punch. The movie’s main characters are all female, including a talented actress Snyder has already worked with in the past. At the official Comic-Con press conference for the film the director along with stars Carla Gugino (Watchmen), Jamie Chung, Jena Malone, Vanessa Hudgens, and Emily Browning were all in attendance.

Now lets hand it over to the ladies! It’s about damn time we kicked the men out of the action films and let the women take over! They just screened the first footage from Sucker Punch at Comic-Con 2010, and although it’s not fully finished and some of the scenes still need a bit of work, it kicks some serious ass and once again raises the artistic bar for an “action” flick. The footage was presented by director Zack Snyder, along with a some of his female-dominated cast Jamie Chung, Carla Gugino, Vanessa Hudgens, Emily Browning, and Jena Malone.
Sucker Punch is the story of a young woman named Babydoll (Browning), who tries to escape a mental asylum after she discovers that her step-father plans on having her lobotomized in five days. With that in mind, here’s what we saw at the Sucker Punch panel at Comic-Con 2010.

A formal announcement hasn’t been made, but we’ve just learned that Warner Bros’ Green Lantern and Sucker Punch are set to be released in 3D. Over at Box Office Mojo, they’ve updated the slate for several of the studio’s films, and they’ve listed those two as 3D releases alongside Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows (Part 1 & 2) and Legend of the Guardians.

Scott Glenn is a wise man, or at least he’ll play one in Zack Snyder‘s Sucker Punch. According to Empire Online, Glenn has joined the all-girl cast of the film that includes Emily Browning, Vanessa Hudgens, Abbie Cornish, Jena Malone and Jamie Chung. Glenn will serve as a mentor/guide to the Sucker Punch bunch. He’ll be what Professor Utonium was to the Powerpuff Girls.

It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about Zack Snyder‘s upcoming all girl, ass-kicking fest, Sucker Punch. The last time I checked they were playing a serious game of shuffle board with it’s actors. According to Yahoo, we can expect another full blooded female to join the cast in the form of Watchmen alumni, Carla Gugino.
