Nicholas Stoller is the director behind one of our favorite films, the 2008 comedy Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Since then he’s expanded his horizons going from Marshall to Get Him to the Greek to Gulliver’s Travels to Stretch Armstrong. He’s rewriting the live action toy adaptation featuring Taylor Lautner as the title character. Stoller recently spoke to the folks over at Coming Soon where he described Armstrong as “a superhero origin story..kind of like Iron Man” (face palms).

Depressing news to report, Nicholas Stoller a man who’s written and directed some pretty decent comedies has decided to take on the live action adaptation of Stretch Armstrong. - Speaking of Friday the 13th, check out some video interviews with the film’s cast. The actors featured include Jared Padalecki, Amanda Righetti and Danielle Panabaker. - Sad news to report. They’re making a movie based on the children’s toy, Stretch Armstrong. It’s disturbing, but true. Universal Pictures has acquired the film rights from Hasbro, and they’ve hired Steve Oedekerk (Bruce Almighty) to write the script. [Variety]
