Wow. Tyler Perry’s Madea Goes to Jail has held the number one spot for two weeks in a row. Not even the tiny teens could take Madea down with Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience. The only good news is that Slumdog Millionaire continues to move up the charts after being on them for 16 weeks, thanks to several Oscars wins. No too shabby for a Slumdog. Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li, ended up right about where is needed to, about to fall of the edge.
Check out this weekends numbers below…

The Warner Brothers DC comic book adaptations just keep rolling in. This time we’re looking at the DC franchise , Suicide Squad. I’m vaguely familiar with these guys, but I never really read any of their stuff. Nothing against them, I just have too many comics in my rotation. According to Variety, Dan Lin is going to be developing and co-producing the Suicide Squad’s first foray onto the big screen. Warner Brothers is looking to turn this into a potential franchise for the studio.

Wow. If there’s one person you don’t want to mess with, it’s Michael Clark Duncan one of the evil villains in the upcoming adaptation of Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li, starring Kristin Kreuk. Michael is probably one of the sweetest people you will ever meet but damn is he a big dude. One of his arms is the size of my head! It’s quite clear that for someone his size and with his prestige, he certainly doesn’t take anything too seriously. He was joking throughout the interview.
Normally at this point, I would talk about the movie he’s in, but honestly, I’m scared to. I don’t want to piss him off. Let’s just skip to the interview…

Kristin Kreuk is so cute, so spunky, so dedicated, that doing this film… well I’ll save my judgment for her role in this film later. All I need to say is that she really brought something refreshing to this film. Although many people know her as the young, pretty girl from the TV show “Smallville” she is beginning to make her film breakthough and is using Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li as her bridge. Personally I can’t wait to see more of her. She’s young and really has a lot of talent that in the right hands could go far.
Check out our somewhat short interview with Kristin below…

Yesterday, Alex Billington over at FirstShowing.net did an interview with Neal McDonough who plays M. Bison in the film adaptation of Street Fighter. When asked what he was doing next, Neal kind of half-mentioned that he might be playing or would like to play Captain America in Marvel’s upcoming film. The weird part it is, he mentions it but then almost immediately takes it back, and then alludes to the fact that he would like to play it and says “you never know.” What does that mean? His face looks like he wished he hadn’t mentioned it.
He states: “I think it’s time for me to go back to playing some of the really good guys who can get the job done, like Captain America, maybe.” When Alex asks him if this is news, his response makes me think that this is something that has been talked about with studios, but there is nothing definitive yet. So my question is, WTF? Is this news? Perhaps he’s one of a few people being considered? Or perhaps it’s just a dream of his he’s trying to throw out there? I mean, he sure as hell looks the part.
I’m baffled. And his facial expressions don’t really help. Check out the video below and tell us what you think…

So, we’ve got a little bit of news to break for you guys. Yesterday we talked to Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li producers Ashok Amritraj and Patrick Aiello and tried to avoid talking about their current release because… well it’s really bad. BUT! They may be able to redeem themselves in some upcoming projects. One of which is Dead of Night, which they gave us a bit of insight to in terms of the overall story, look, shooting dates and attire. It appears that the famous suit and car will both be featured in the film.
Then they also mentioned another film which I don’t think anyone has heard of yet. The film will be called Lioni and is set to star the lovely and talented Emily Mortimer.
Check out what they have to say about the film below…

Here are some of the top news stories from this past Valentines Day weekend….
- Several media sources are reporting that Scarlett Johansson may be Emily Blunt’s replacement to star as Black Widow in Iron Man 2. As we stated earlier, Blunt is trying to work out scheduling conflicts between Iron Man, and the Jack Black film Gulliver’s Travels. If the Johansson speculation wasn’t enough, rumors are swirling that Joss Whedon muse Eliza Dushku (Dollhouse) wants the role as well! [Slashfilm]
- A new poster has been released to promote the anime adaptation, Dragonball: Evolution. It features Goku, Bulma, Piccolo, Master Roshi, and Mai. The tagline for the poster reads, “Master Your Destiny.” Nope, I’m still not convinced. [Latino Review]
- Check out some footage of Kristin Kreuk in action as Chun Li in a fight scene from, Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li. The fight lasts a little over 30 seconds and I’ve definitely seen better, but you can judge for yourself. Be warned there’s some pretty bad wire work involved. [First Showing]
- The marketing relationship between movies and toys is getting stronger everyday.”The LEGO Group have announced a new licensing cross-over with Disney Consumer Products. Set to launch in 2010 are three new lines of interlocking blocks based upon the Prince of Persia movie, Toy Story and Cars.” [Slashfilm]
- Another TV spot for Warner Brother’s Watchmen has hit the airwaves! This is the 5th promotional spot for the movie, and boy does it bring the drama. [Superherohype]

I’ve vaguely been paying attention to any news regarding the Lost Planet video game adaptation, for obvious reason’s but today something caught my eye. According to CHUD, during an interview with Capcom’s Corporate Officer Toshihiro Tokumaru, a bomb was dropped regarding what type of movie this is really going to be. The head honcho has big plans for this film, and when you want to make a big movie, you have to spend big money. Guess how much dough this guy is willing to part with for this passion project.
Find out after the jump.
