lucasfilm09 6 8 Weekend Roundup: LucasFilm, Javier Bardem, Conans Triumph...

Here are some things that were going on in the movie world while you were busy laughing your ass off from watching The Hangover:

  • Lucasfilm and longtime supplier GenArts have struck an R&D deal that underscores industry trends such as multi-platform production and shrinking budgets and schedules. “The aim is development of a consistent pipeline with real-time capabilities that offer visual continuity for content creation across mediums including features, TV and games.” (Variety)
  • Fan of Triumph the Insult Comic Dog from the Conan O’Brien show? Conan has sent Triumph on a number of missions and each ones has been hysterical. Check out a list of funniest Triumph the Insult Comic Dog clips at unrealitymag.
  • It looks like sexy/creepy star Javier Bardem is currently negotiating to star across Julia Roberts and Richard Jenkins in a Ryan Murphy-directed adaptation of the Elizabeth Gilbert memoir “Eat, Pray, Love.” (Variety)
  • Steven Spielberg‘s latest project, The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn will be released internationally late October/early November 2011 but won’t be open until Dec. 23rd, 2011 in the US. (Why are we missing out!?) Paramount and Sony also announced that the movie will be released in 3D. (pastemagazine)
