The velvet paintings of clowns crying tell us that all funny people have a sad man inside. So does Smokey Robinson, and so does Marc Maron in his bi-weekly podcast. It’s then no surprise that Will Ferrell will take a serious role now and again, and Everything Must Go, directed by Dan Rush, promises melancholy and some laughs. Miguel Arteta’s latest film Cedar Rapids takes bits and pieces from his previous projects and rolls them all into one. There are some elements of “The Office” with Ed Helms, a bit of The Good Girl with John C. Reilly, and some awkward and sometimes dark humor like seen in Youth in Revolt. Rapids is set in a small town at a convention and it magnifies the seedy underbelly of the insurance world.

A couple of weeks ago we learned that Kevin Smith’s upcoming film Red State would star a familiar face attached to an unrecognizable name. The guy is Michael Parks, and he’s just one of the many actors who’ll be involved with the film. According to The Wrap, 90 percent of Hollywood is talks to co-star in State including Dermot Mulroney or is it Dylan McDermott? No, we’re pretty sure it’s Dermot Mulroney.

This is a rather interesting first look at Rango. We don’t know too much about the film other than it’s a “story of a chameleon with an identity crisis.” Vague, but lets run with it! The ad is definitely intriguing and probably even more so if you’re in anyway intoxicated. It’s extremely simple and quite effective and makes you NEED to know more.

What we also know about the film is that it’s directed by The Ring and Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and 3 director Gore Verbinski. The teaser below is reminiscent be of that crazy crab scene in the second Pirates movie, only this time, that insanity seems to be the main premise for the film or at least this clip….
