There a lot of upcoming films that will tackle the subject of Greek mythology but none as anticipated as Tarsem Singh’s War of the Gods. It’s currently in production and Relativity Media sent out a press release letting everyone know that they’ve made a few major changes. War of Gods will now be called Immortals and two actors have joined the growing cast including Oscar nominee John Hurt and Transformers star Isabel Lucas.

Did someone eat a huge bowl of nonsense for breakfast when they came up with this latest movie idea? According to Latino Review, director Stephen Norrington plans on further expanding the film adaptations of the Blade Trilogy. He directed the first installment in 1998, which was followed by two sequels done by Guillermo del Toro and David S. Goyer respectively. Norrington states that he plans on returning to the Blade franchise, but this time there will be one major change, no Blade!

Academy Award winning screenwriter/director Sofia Coppola is back after a three year hiatus. Her last film was 2006′s Marie Antoinette, which starred Kirsten Dunst in the title role. The film received mixed reviews and wasn’t as revered as her previous effort Lost in Translation. Either way she’s at it again and this time she’s taking two actors, Somewhere.

Here we go again with the risky remakes. Recent Twittering for Production Weekly indicates that Alex Winter, known by most as Bill S. Preston in Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, is directing a remake of the 1987 Gremlins-like cult classic, The Gate.
If you haven’t seen the original, which stars Stephen Dorff, it’s about three kids who inadvertently unleash a horde of tiny demons from a hole in their backyard. Naturally, chaos ensues. The difference this time around is that Winter is said to be filming the remake in 3-D, so at least we’re getting something beyond a carbon copy of the original action… and perhaps a few in-your-face surprises.
