I think Seven Pounds will take Yes Man. Although this looks like it’s merely a matter of who has more box office pull, with Will Smith in a drama and Jim Carrey in a comedy, Carrey automatically has the upper hand. But I think Smith can take him, even though the reports are saying otherwise. $10 says Seven Pounds wins. What do you think?

Here are the predicted numbers according to Box Office Report for this coming weekends grosses, totals, and changes since last weeks numbers…

Interview: Will Smith on Seven Pounds, I Am Legend 2 and More

willsmith08 12 18 Interview: Will Smith on Seven Pounds, I Am Legend 2 and MoreOpening this weekend is Will Smith‘s latest film Seven Pounds directed by Gabriele Muccino. The story is about an IRS agent with a fateful secret who embarks on a journey to help change the lives of seven strangers. Will Smith struts his emotional baggage stuff in this film, showing us, yet again that the man can take on anything.

Will Smith has got to be one of the most humble and laid back movie stars of all time. He could make almost any movie sky-rocket at the box office and yet at the heart of it all he’s a father and a husband. As he says himself, “I’m just so dude at the dinner table.”

Check out the interview below where Will Smith talks about tackling his role in Seven Pounds, having to get busy with Rosario Dawson, his thoughts on our new President, and even some info on The Karate Kid and the sequel to I Am Legend.

Movie Releases: Seven Pounds, The Wrestler, Yes Man…

sevenppounds08 12 17 Movie Releases: Seven Pounds, The Wrestler, Yes Man...

Finally we get The Wrestler in theaters. This film has more people saying good things about it than almost any other film coming out this year. In fact, aside from The Wrestler, everything coming out this week is good but has a better option. Seven Pounds is good, but not great, I would say The Wrestler, Doubt, or The Reader are much better picks, although I’m guessing that by shear Will Smith-power the film will make it to the top of the box office. Yes Man (review here) really isn’t as funny as it should be, do see Role Models or rent Hamlet 2 instead. I think Bolt is a better pick than The Tale of Despereaux. To be honest, I have not seen, nor heard anything about Nothing But the Truth, so it has escaped my cynicism for now!

7spounds08 09 29 Seven Pounds Trailer
Below is a clip of the new Gabriele Muccino film Seven Pounds, starring Will Smith, co-starring Rosario Dawson, Michael Ealy, Barry Pepper and Woody Harrelson. It seems as if the The Pursuit of Happyness crew has all joined forces again for another emotional drama. Will Smith, plays Ben Thomas, an IRS agent who sets out on a redemption journey to help the lives of seven strangers. Personally the second I heard the first line “The earth was created in 7 days” I became a little hesitant. Please don’t let this film be preachy, please don’t let this film be preachy.

The film opens in theaters on December 19th and you can catch the trailer below the jump…
