After the hoopla surrounding Tuesday’s Golden Globe nominations, it’s time for the actors to finally have their say. The nominees have been announced for the Screen Actor’s Guild Awards and the the majority of the picks fall in line with what we’ve already seen thus far. The only major difference is that Jeremy Renner was actually recognized for his awesome portrayal in The Hurt Locker.

Over the past week or so it’s been awards central with various critic groups naming their top films and performances of 2009. They were followed by the Golden Globes, and now we’ve got the Screen Actor’s Guild following suit. The ceremony is from the actors, for the actors who are celebrating the work of their peers. The 16th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will air live on TNT and TBS on Saturday, January 23, 2010, at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Until then, the nominees are…

I would like to start this article with, it’s about time! I love Betty White. Talk about a national television and film treasure who keeps on ticking. According to the LATimes, the legendary actress has been chosen by the Screen Actor’s Guild to receive next year’s Lifetime Achievement Award for career achievement and humanitarian accomplishment.
