If the name Fire and Ice makes you think of a figure skating duo or Will Ferrell’s movie Blades of Glory get your head out of the clouds! We’re referring to Ralph Bakshi and Frank Frazetta’s animated feature from 1983. It had a Conan the Barbarian and Vampirella vibe mixed with a little bit of Beast Master for good measure. According to AICN, Robert Rodriguez has acquired the rights to the original and is getting ready to produce a remake at his TroubleMaker Studios.

Robert Rodriguez is a marketing genius! In honor of Cinco de Mayo, the director decided to release an “illegal” teaser for his upcoming film Machete. Do you remember that grainy trailer that appeared during Grindhouse that was sandwiched between Death Proof and Planet Terror? Yeah, he made a feature length movie out of that. Take a look…

Yesterday we brought you an interview clip from Predators producer and director Robert Rodriguez and Nimrod Antal. It explained a lot about the unconventional casting and story changes they made to set the reboot apart from the original and today on the film’s official website they debuted some behind the scenes footage featuring Topher Grace as his character Edwin. He’s one of the many actors we were surprised to see pop up in this movie because quite frankly, who’s afraid of Eric Foreman? Check out the video to see how he fits in with the rest of the group…

Producer Robert Rodriguez and director Nimrod Antal both appear in a new featurette for their upcoming film Predators. The video is a little over 3 minutes long and during that short period of time they manage to answer a few burning questions. For example, they finally explain what compelled them to hire the skinny guy from The Pianist to play the lead character. They also discuss why they changed the movie’s setting and the differences between this film and its predecessors.

Because, if you’re like me, Robert Rodriguez’s Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over left you with so many unanswered questions (as in, dude, what’s happening to your career? Let’s huddle up and talk about this…) that you just HAD to have another film. Well, you can breathe a sigh of relief over the following: Film Junk is reporting that Rodriguez will continue his pattern of alternating cheesy fun trash flicks (the upcoming Predators and Machete) with yet another cheesy and not fun children’s film, Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World.

An official teaser poster has been released for the Nimrod Antal reboot, Predators. The film is produced by Robert Rodriguez and has a cast led by Academy Award winner, Adrien Brody. While at SXSW, an exclusive 2 minute preview debuted of the film, and I have to admit, this movie looks a lot better than I thought it would. Check it out…

Texas native Robert Rodriguez will debut footage from his new film at this year’s SXSW Festival, which happens to be the highly anticipated Predators reboot. He’s been a mainstay at the festival for years and during his latest visit he’ll bring the first look at his version of those orally challenged aliens from above.

A few months ago we told you that Spy Kids director Robert Rodriguez would be taking The Jetsons to the big screen. One of our concerns was if he would actually be able to deliver such a project with so many others (Machete, Predators) on his plate — the answer is no.
According to Cinema Blend, Warner Bros is bringing in a replacement and it comes with a slight hint of cheese. Anger Management and Get Smart director Peter Segal will be directing the live action adaptation of The Jetsons. It does seem like they’ve done from one extreme to another. There is no doubt that Rodriguez and Segal will have two very different interpretations of the same film.

What in the Oscar winning hell is going on here? I love Robert Rodriguez, but I would have never thought in a million years that he could get Adrien Brody to do a Predator movie. According to THR, the actor has signed on for the lead role in Predators, which will be produced by Rodriguez and directed by Nimrod Antal. Brody will also be joined by several other name supporting cast members, including a That ’70′s Show alum.
