A few months ago we told you that Spy Kids director Robert Rodriguez would be taking The Jetsons to the big screen. One of our concerns was if he would actually be able to deliver such a project with so many others (Machete, Predators) on his plate — the answer is no.
According to Cinema Blend, Warner Bros is bringing in a replacement and it comes with a slight hint of cheese. Anger Management and Get Smart director Peter Segal will be directing the live action adaptation of The Jetsons. It does seem like they’ve done from one extreme to another. There is no doubt that Rodriguez and Segal will have two very different interpretations of the same film.

It’s been a while since we’ve heard any progress on Robert Rodriguez’s remake of Red Sonja. The comic book character was previously played by Brigitte Nielson, with actress Rose McGowan set to take over the role. Thanks to the creepy networking device that is Twitter, McGowan has cleared the air once and for all on whether or not she’ll bring the red haired vixen back to the big screen.

Robert Rodriguez is partially known for his family oriented adventure movies such as The Spy Kids Trilogy and The Adventures of Sharkboy & Lavagirl. His new film Shorts falls in line with his previous features and is filled with kid friendly action. As a father of five children, the director was inspired by his own kids to tell this latest story.
His son Rebel, who stars in his newest adventure helped dream up Shorts. He even came up with the title. “Rebel said, ‘It’s called Shorts because the stories are short, the kids are short and they wear shorts.” The film stars Jon Cryer, William H. Macy, Leslie Mann, James Spader, Jimmy Bennett and Kat Dennings.

Since it’s been confirmed that Robert Rodriguez is currently shooting his trailer turned feature Machete, some behind the scenes photos have popped up online. The most recent batch feature Jessica Alba, Steven Seagal (yes, he’s alive), Danny Trejo, and Rodriguez.
