The Hollywood studios continue to play a game of release date shuffle. Last week we learned that Frankenweenie and John Carter of Mars‘ respective dates had been moved, and now according to Heat Vision John Carter’s has been changed again. This time, the decision has to do with Ridley Scott’s upcoming sci-fi epic Prometheus.
After months of waiting, the premiere of Kevin Macdonald and Ridley Scott’s ambitious project Life in a Day is almost here. The film that started off as a huge experiment to capture the actions of people all over the world in a single day is finished and ready to go. YouTube has announced that the movie will appear on the site later this month, where it will steam live for all to see.

Over the weekend a report surfaced regarding Ridley Scott’s upcoming Alien prequel. According to Digital Spy, the director has his eye on Gemma Arterton to star as the female lead in the latest installment of the sci-fi series. Does this mean that her character will be a complete rip off of Sigourney Weaver’s Ellen Ripley? We’re not sure but we do know that Scott was impressed by Arterton’s performance in The Disappearance of Alice Creed.
Don’t you love it when someone big does something cool instead of something crappy? I kid Ridley! But honestly, this sounds way more cool than a remake of Robin Hood- it uses both modern technology and it’s an original idea! Yay!
Ridley Scott’s “Scott Free UK” project begins editing 4600 hours of footage in order to complete the documentary film: Life in a Day. The film could only be made with the help of you out there. Ridley Scott’s Alien prequel is still going strong over at Fox even though we haven’t heard anything about it in a while. The latest creative rumblings have “Lost” writer Damon Lindelof as a possible candidate to pen the screenplay for the film. The news comes from Deadline and according to the site Lindelof has already met with the director and they’ve been discussing possible stories for the film.

I begin this review with a sigh… Ridley Scott’s latest action-adventure ride Robin Hood starring Russel Crowe and Cate Blanchett has a number of amazing aspects to it, but as a whole it’s just not enjoyable. These are the reviews I hate because I can see the craftsmanship that went into the film and I want to love it, but I don’t. Technically all the pieces are there, it was well made, well put together, but with a run-time of 140 minutes and too many details, it felt like sitting through a partially real history lesson with some amazing action sequences.
