RED MOVIE REVIEW: This weekend in theaters the old gang gets back together in RED to perform the ultimate heist — meaning a bunch of well known actors got paid to shoot a bunch of giant runs in nice clothing. Overall this is very much the film you think it’s going to be; it’s has plenty of funny jokes, moves right along, there’s a lot great actors saying cheesy lines that through anyone else’s mouth would make you cringe and a very thin but easy to watch story.

First we found out that Oscar winner Susan Sarandon would star as the female lead and the matriarch of the Barkley Clan, and while at SXSW actor Ryan Phillippe has confirmed that he will also star in the film, which is set to begin production this summer!

  • Boondock Saints sequel in the works: According to THR, “principal photography has started in Toronto on Troy Duffy’s sequel to the 2000 indie.” Back to reprise their roles will be, Norman Reedus and Sean Patrick Flanery, along with Billy Connolly, David Della Rocco, Clifton Collins, Julie Benz, and Bob Marley.
  • Richard Dreyfuss talks about Oliver Stone’s W.: Apparently Dreyfuss wasn’t blown away by the film. In a recent interview Dreyfuss stated “it’s pretty good, but not awesome.”
  • New Planet of the Apes film in the works: Fox is talking about making ANOTHER remake of the original of Conquest of the Planet of the Apes. The script is set to be written by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver.
