It’s time for a quality thriller that you won’t be able to predict. Korean writer/director, Joon-ho Bong (The Host) brings us Mother and tells a story the good old fashioned way. The movie stars the veteran Korean actress, Hye-ja Kim, as an obsessive mother who has to try and save her mentally handicapped son. When the police failed, she won’t. The story is a combination of the dysfunctional relationship between a mother and son and a murder mystery, but done in a manner that only a foreign director can do.

“The Office” celebrates the greenest of holidays in the aptly titled episode, “St. Patrick’s Day.” Kathy Bates returns as the CEO of Sabre and Michael is taken aback when someone else in the office gets her attention for which he’s been awkwardly vying for. Is Kathy Bates third time on the show a charm? Is this B-List-Holiday special full of Irish laughs and lucky charms? Lets find out shall we?

I have one thing to say to you people out there… “Get your game face on.” If that one line doesn’t epitomize this movie I don’t know what does. Sure it’s a political thriller, but lets get down to it, this is no Syriana, this is an action film, and even more to the point it’s a Bourne film with a lead that has no special fighting powers and a bit of a political edge.
Lets not get too deep with this one, lets do what the film needed to do, get to the point and get out…

Just when we thought our tear ducts could rest until the next Twilight installment, Robert Pattinson strikes again! This time, though, he’s sporting a normal set of teeth. Summit Entertainment presents Will Fetters’ debut screenplay, Remember Me, directed by Allen Coutler – also starring Emilie de Ravin, Chris Cooper, Lena Olin, Tate Ellington, and Pierce Bronsan.

Last night’s episode of “Lost” was entitled, “Dr. Linus,” and it centered on my favorite character on the show. Ben was on the outside looking in when his dark little secret regarding Jacob was discovered and his life was on the line thanks to “Jacob’s bodyguard,” Illana. Jacob’s loyal follower was in the mood to put a hurtin’ on the castaway due to his actions towards the only father figure she’s ever known. We also got a peek into the alternate timeline where Dr. Linus, the history professor, exhibited some classic Ben behavior to get his way.

“The Office” goes where no previous episode has gone before…the delivery room (Jan doesn’t count because…well, she just doesn’t) as Pam goes into labor and hilarity ensues. Last night we got a two parter entitled, “The Delivery,” and the big question is did it deliver on the laughs? In some instances more than others, the Dunder-Mifflin antics easily transferred from the cubicle to the hospital, while others fell completely flat.

The latest episode of “Lost” entitled “Sundown” was a lot more action oriented than previous installments and I loved it. Sayid was the central focus, but we still saw a few glimpses of Claire and Pseudo-Locke at the temple. For some odd reason, everyone had either gone crazy or was beginning to descend into madness thanks to the manipulations of the smoke monster/man in black/Pseudo-Locke. This episode wasn’t boring by a long shot, but even though it kept our attention the storytelling element was so-so.

Kevin Smith may have trouble squeezing into an airplane seat, but he’s got no problem filling the director’s chair for his latest film, Cop Out. The film puts an R-rated comedic spin on the buddy cop genre with Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan starring as veteran NYPD officers attempting to track down some stolen baseball cards. Unfortunately, Smith was able to derive more entertainment from his recent Southwest-bashing tweets than he was from this feature film.

Jump scares are not my cup of tea but in the realm of horror, suspense is prime. Breck Eisner’s remake of the 1973 film The Crazies (by George A. Romero) is like a frightening haunted house on Halloween but with one exception, these players will kill you. When I first saw the trailer, I was completely intrigued because it suggested a good story, with enough scares to make it a solid horror film — but did the actual product live up to those high expectations?
