When last we talked about Quentin Tarantino‘s latest Django Unchained, Jamie Foxx was the odds-on frontrunner for the lead character. That is now locked up. CNN talked to Foxx recently, and he said the dull platitudes expected of someone up for a big role. “Amazing” Foxx says. It “should be amazing.” Well, duh. The money quote is that he seems to suggest that Leonardo DiCaprio is also a lock the project. “I think, just to be able to work with Quentin Tarantino and Samuel Jackson, Leonardo DiCaprio, and to be able to tell a story that needs to be told…”

Much has been rumored about Quentin Tarantino‘s latest film Django Unchained, with Samuel L. Jackson and Christoph Waltz considered shoo-in’s for certain parts, and Leonardo DiCaprio supposedly circling the film’s bad guy role. Quentin Tarantino’s ‘muse,’ Uma Thurman, let some details slip about QT’s upcoming feature, according to Digital Spy, and claims that it will be a western film entitled A Southern (Note: In several interviews, Tarantino has referred to the film’s genre as ‘a southern,’ ie: a western that takes place in the American South, so A Southern may be a misquote on Digital Spy’s part—and ok, I’m flicking my fanboy nerd switch into the off position now).

Once again Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez’s professional paths are crossing. Monday we reported that Rodriguez was in talks to direct the superhero movie Deadpool and now there’s word (via Pajiba) that Tarantino wants to take on The Shadow. The last time we heard anything about the project Sam Raimi was attached but we guess that’s no longer the case. If Tarantino comes on board will The Shadow be dropping F-bombs and slicing villain’s neck’s from ear to ear?
