Pirates of the Caribbean On Stranger Tides hasn’t hit theaters yet, but Disney already has plans for a follow up. According to Deadline, the studio has commissioned writer Terry Rossio to pen the yet to be titled sequel Pirates of the Caribbean 5. This news confirms the speculation that we’ve heard over the last few months about Stranger Tides marking the start of a new trilogy.
The above photo features the flag of the famous pirate Blackbeard, and it will appear in the upcoming sequel Pirates of the Caribbean On Stranger Tides. Disney isn’t wasting any time with their plans for the revamped Pirates of the Caribbean series. Yesterday we learned that the first teaser trailer will debut online December 13 and in theaters attached to Tron Legacy. There’s also been word that a new trilogy is on the horizon and that On Stranger Tides is just the starting point. According to HitFix, the studio is slowly but surely gearing up for Pirates 5 and 6.
