Why are we not surprised that veteran actor Ian McShane has landed one of the most coveted roles in the upcoming film, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides? According to THR, he’s in negotiations to star as the infamous Blackbeard in the fourth film opposite Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow.

According to AICN, the director confirmed himself at a Q&A event that took place after an early screening of Nine, that he would in fact direct Pirates 4.
