Though he’s been brilliant on television in “Black Adder” and has done some of the best modern slapstick with his character Mr. Bean, Rowan Atkinson has never really cracked into American movies as a leading man. And yet his films keep coming out in America. Johnny English Reborn is a sequel to Johnny English, which made $28 Million in America and $132 internationally. Reborn is due September 16, and costars Dominic “McNutty” West and Rosamund Pike. Check out the trailer…

Salvation Blvd is one of those films that I would have thought would never receive a home outside of festivals. It’s not that it’s not fun, or that it doesn’t have an entire cast fill of friendly A-list faces — but it’s a film that mocks religion outright and doesn’t really have any reason for doing it. But, once again, I’ve found myself saying “I was wrong” because IFC Films and Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions (SPWA) announced yesterday that that the two companies will be partnering to acquire North American rights to the film. Lets take a look at if they made the right decision…

Not long ago we had the chance to talk to Pierce Brosnan about his latest role and producing project, The Greatest with Susan Sarandon and Carey Mulligan (read interview). This is one of his best performances to date. There is something so satisfying about watching Brosnan when he’s vulnerable and real – he completely entrances you. Yes he may look good in a suit and know how to make shooting a fake gun look real, but the man can act. In The Greatest, he plays a character whose son is in a car accident, and as he says below “it was me”. It’s a subtle performance about him trying to keep everything together while the strings are coming loss – thanks to the director Shana Feste who allowed for scenes to breath when needed, you finally get to sit with Brosnan and see what he’s capable of.

Roman Polanski hits the big screen with his new psychological thriller, The Ghost Writer starring Ewan McGregor. Despite all the recent drama in his life, Polanski manages to pull another rabbit out of his hat and surprise audiences in a whole new way with this film. From his comedic jabs and clever dialogue to his dramatic use of tone and music, The Ghost Writer had me curiously invested in the film from start to finish.
Let’s take a closer look…

Putting the whole arrest and trial thing aside, Director Roman Polanski will hopefully be available in the coming months to see his latest film The Ghost Writer with the impressive ensemble cast of Ewan McGregor, Pierce Brosnan, Kim Cattrall, Olivia Williams, Eli Wallach, Timothy Hutton, Tom Wilkinson and James Belushi be released at the Berlin Film Festival on February 11. Just in time for The Twilight Saga: New Moon, a trailer has been released for Rob Pattinson‘s next feature film, Remember Me. It’s definitely no Twilight and the trailer shows the actor taking on some heavy scenes opposite Pierce Brosnan, and for those of you who are a bit more hormone driven, there’s a few shots of Rob getting it on with is co-star Emile de Ravin.
