Oscar winner Morgan Freeman is known for playing paternal and respectful figures in film but according to THR, his latest role will have him tossing that image out the window. According to the trade, Freeman has landed a role in a Warner Bros comedy tentatively entitled, Dirty Old Men. The film already has Peter Segal attached to direct, and is expected to take Freeman in a direction we’ve never seen him in before.

A few months ago we told you that Spy Kids director Robert Rodriguez would be taking The Jetsons to the big screen. One of our concerns was if he would actually be able to deliver such a project with so many others (Machete, Predators) on his plate — the answer is no.
According to Cinema Blend, Warner Bros is bringing in a replacement and it comes with a slight hint of cheese. Anger Management and Get Smart director Peter Segal will be directing the live action adaptation of The Jetsons. It does seem like they’ve done from one extreme to another. There is no doubt that Rodriguez and Segal will have two very different interpretations of the same film.

It has hit a couple of snags in the past year, but it manages to keep coming back for more. Back in January, Superherohype reported that the film wasn’t happening. Someone’s doing incredibly well for themselves during the recession, and it’s director Peter Segal. His career has been on fire these last few years, and its showing no signs of slowing down. Segal directed the hits Anger Management with Adam Sander and last year’s theatrical version of Get Smart starring Steve Carell and Dwayne Johnson. According to Empire, the director is a prime candidate to helm the coveted Ben Stiller property, Little Fockers.
