The upcoming Greg Motolla comedy Paul will be a must see for next year. The film is led by frequent collaborators Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, who are supported by the likes of Seth Rogen, Jason Bateman, and Jane Lynch. If that’s not a winning combination, I don’t know what is. Over at Collider they’ve posted the first real image of Pegg and Frost in character from the film, and for the actors it looks like the production was a hair-raising experience.

We posted the introduction and the first video diary by Simon Pegg and Nick Frost on the set of their film Paul a few weeks ago and now finally get an update! In this blog, Pegg and Frost basically introduce the actors, director, and give us a little bit of insight on the story. The guys do seem a bit less perky than in the first two videos. Hopefully the New Mexico heat is getting to them, but if it does, that might make for some interesting video blogs, don’t you think?

The film is being directed by the comedy master Greg Mottola (Superbad, Adventureland) and stars Bill Hader, Sigourney Weaver, Jason Bateman, Blythe Danner, Jane Lynch (who recently talked with us about shooting the film ir our interview with her for Post-Grad) and  Seth Rogen — all of which can be seen in their latest video.

Check out it out below…

janelynch09 6 29 Interview: Jane Lynch Talks About Working on Julie and Julia and Pauk

Recently at a press junket for Post-Grad, one of the highlights of the day was the fabulous Jane Lynch who happens to be one of my favorite comedians. She was kind enough to fill us in on some of her upcoming roles in Simon Pegg and Nick Frost’s film Paul which is currently shooting and her role in Julie & Julia as none other than Meryl Streep’s sister.

Check out what she had to say below…

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost’s upcoming comedy Paul, which is being directed by the comedy master Greg Mottola (Superbad, Adventureland) has finally started shooting in New Mexico with Bill Hader, Sigourney Weaver, Jason Bateman, Blythe Danner, Jane Lynch and Seth Rogen (who plays the alien voice of Paul and probably won’t be on set much).

Pegg and Frost have decided to take their mini-cameras with them and film some behind the scenes blogs for fans to enjoy. The first of which is an intro and then Joe Lo Truglio talks about the set “going green”

Enough with what it’s about, I’ll let Pegg and Frost introduce the series below…

paul09 6 16 Sigourney Weaver Joins the Cast of Paul

Attention sci-fi and comedy geeks: be on the lookout Sigourney Weaver in Simon Pegg and Nick Frost’s upcoming comedy Paul and just to make it that much better, it sounds like she’ll be joining the cast Alien-style.

It was rumored a whole ago that Weaver was considering the role in the film but, has just been reported that Weaver has signed on to play Tara, a role which will hopefully tap into and reference her character Ripley from the Alien films. Blythe Danner (both Fockers films) and Joe Lo Truglio (“Reno 911″) have also signed on to join the already amazing cast which includes Jane Lynch, Jason Bateman (as a governmental official, presumably out to stop whatever hijinks Frost and Pegg are up to), Bill Hader, Kristen Wiig, and Seth Rogen (as the voice of the alien Paul).

rogen Seth Rogen to Voice Paul

A while back we told you that Simon Pegg and frequent collaborator Nick Frost would be reuniting for a road trip comedy called Paul. The film centers on “two British comic book geeks who travel together across the United States, experiencing the highlights of American culture along the way.” Not only will the actors star in the film, but they also co-wrote the script. As of late there’s been some major casting news on the Paul front including the addition of Seth Rogen.

Funnyman Bill Hader can soon be seen in this month’s Adventureland, and every week on Saturday Night Live. In the past two years Hader has been making his mark in feature film by popping up in such hits as Superbad and Tropic Thunder. According to FilmSchoolRejects he’s on his way to co-starring in another feature alongside British powerhouses Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.

We previously reported that Pegg and Frost were teaming up for the Greg Mattola comedy Paul. shaunofthedead Pegg and Frost Team Up Again, for Paul

Two of my favorite actors are teaming up again! I’m referring to those hilarious Brits Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost. We recently broke the news that these two would be co-starring in the Steven Spielberg film Tintin as the Thompson twins, and now we’ve found out that, that won’t be the pair’s only new project together. According to Screen Rant, Pegg and Frost are currently co-writing a comedy entitled, Paul. The film is about two slackers, and an alien, who’s name is, well… Paul.
