Parker Posey has recently joined the cast of Highland Park, in the role of Shirley Paine, the former Homecoming Queen and wheeling-and-dealing mayor of the town. The film is about a teacher who wins the lottery and then donates his newly received money to the high school’s library that was shut down due to insufficient funds.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Sundance Film Festival. Starting on January 15th and running through the 25th, the festival will turn the sleepy ski town of Park City, Utah and neighboring cities into a bustling hub for independent filmmakers, journalists, celebrities, and film connoisseurs.
With my long underwear and earmuffs already packed, I will be at Sundance for the opening weekend and first half of the festival. In a mere 6 days I will be seeing 13 feature films, several short films, and various panels with directors and actors.
