DreamWorks Animation has decided to join forces with THQ in a multi-year, multi-property publishing deal. The announcement was made earlier today, and it includes some interesting changes to the studio’s film slate. One of the main features that will be effected is the upcoming Oobermind, which has been given a new name.

As, we previously mentioned in our Weekend Roundup, Oobermind, the animated villain with a cranium shaped like a light bulb has gone through a voice change. The upcoming feature film of the same name was set to have Robert Downey, Jr. star as it’s title character. Unfortunately, due to scheduling conflicts that is a no-go. According to Empire, Downey has been replaced by funny man Will Ferrell, who will be joined by two other comedic geniuses and an “inglourious basterd” in the cast.

In case you were too busy watching District 9 with EVERYONE else in America, here’s the latest movie news that took place over the weekend:
- What do Will Ferrell, Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill have in common? According to Variety, the trio will be lending their voices to the DreamWorks animation, Oobermind. Tiny Fey is also on board to make this a very interesting, and talented, cast. (Variety)
- The Wayans Brothers are back! Marlon and Shawn Wayans will reprise their roles as FBI agents/undercover white ladies in the sequel to 2004′s hit White Chicks. Noooo! Older brother, Keenen Ivory Wayans, is on board to direct the film. (THR)
- Producers Rob Weiss, Mitch Davis, Ryan Dexler, and Andrew Left will be making a film based on the book written by real-life pimp, Robert “Iceberg Slim” Beck. The book, “Pimp: The Story of My Life“, has sold over 5 million copies since its release and is the second best-selling book written by a black man, after Alex Haley’s “Roots.” (Reuters)

Although most of these films will be released until 2010, we have spotted 4 new new posters for Spider-Man 4, Iron Man 2, Oobermind, and Shrek 4 over at AICN from the E3 Expo currently taking place.
This is the first we’ve seen of Dreamworks new project Oobermind, and so far it looks entertaining. The Spiderman, Shrek, and Iron Man posters really don’t give too much, they’re more of teaser posters than anything else.
