Nine - Daniel Seduces The Audience

A few more photos from Rob Marshall’s film adaptation of Nine have been released. They feature Academy Award winners Daniel Day-Lewis, Nicole Kidman, Marion Cotillard, Penelope Cruz, and Sophia Loren as well as Oscar nominee Kate Hudson. I’m convinced only critically acclaimed actors could audition for this film.

Check out the ladies and the man in action…

nicole kidman09 5 13 Nicole Kidman Quits Woody Allen Project: Who Will Replace Her?

Apparently, Nicole Kidman was serious about that whole “quitting acting” thing. According to Variety, although she was officially signed on to star alongside Antonio Banderas, Anthony Hopkins, Josh Brolin, Naomi Watts and Freida Pinto in Woody Allen’s upcoming project, she has decided to leave the project.

She says she is stepping down due to “a scheduling conflict” with Kidman’s other project, Rabbit Hole, which she herself is producing with through her company Rabbit Hole Productions. Her movie stars Aaron Eckhart and is being directed by John Cameron-Mitchell and filming on the East Coast this summer, the exact same time that Allen will be shooting in London.

nicole kidman 09 3 25 Nicole Kidman Joins Woody Allen Film

Nicole Kidman is a liar! She said she was doing one more film and then quitting the biz, but apparently she just couldn’t say no to joining Woody Allen’s upcoming film alongside Antonio Banderas, Josh Brolin, Anthony Hopkins, Freida Pinto and Naomi Watts. You can’t really blame her. This is probably getting close to one of Allen’s last films and the cast is almost as good as it could possibly get.

australiaalp3 2 09 This Week on DVD: Australia, ER, Ace Ventura, Jr.

FEATURE FILMS

Pick of the Week: Australia

Starring: Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman

Here’s the epic that everybody missed, featuring arguably Australia’s two biggest starts. Didn’t seem to matter, however, as middling reviews and general malaise led it to bargain theaters weeks after it hit the big houses. Why was this? Probably because romance is dead in Hollywood. Nobody likes big sweeping gestures of love, preferring intimate stories of “realism” or silly chick flicks where love is some sort of prize. Nobody seems to consider love that grand anymore and therefore stories where it’s as big as an entire country fall flat. If you still long for the sweeping romance of yore, you can buy this DVD.

REVIEW: Baz Luhrmann’s Australia

Wednesday, November 26, 2008 12:52PM - By Mali Elfman

ausnicolerunning08 11 26 REVIEW: Baz Luhrmanns Australia

Baz Luhrmann knows how to tell a story. Through song, through Shakespeare, through any means possible, he knows how to make a film like no one else. Australia is beautiful in every way that it possibly can be. From the wide-shots of the rolling hills and the barren deserts to the galloping herd shots that will blow your mind. The story itself can be described as no less than an epic. It has drama, comedy, action, adventure, the whole lot. I think no matter who you are there is something to enjoy.
