A few days ago, Deadline reported on Nicolas Cage’s abrupt departure from Joel Schumacher’s upcoming thriller Trespass. The cast and crew were left in limbo wondering when and if the film would go into production. According to EW, Cage has changed his mind and is back on to star as the lead in the film. Whether or not this means Liev Schreiber is out as his replacement who knows. If that wasn’t confusing enough, the actor has also switched his role – again.

Nicolas Cage must be learning from his past mistakes because according to Deadline he’s bailed on a project with director Joel Schumacher. The film is called Trespass and the Oscar winning actor has abruptly dropped out and he’s not coming back. Neither Schumacher or Cage have had the best box office track record as of late and maybe just maybe, one of them realized that two wrongs don’t make a right.

My Bloody Valentine director Patrick Lussier touched down at Comic-Con and brought some lovely company with him including Nicolas Cage, William Fichtner, and Amber Heard. They attended a special panel to take about their film Drive Angry 3D , which centers on a vengeful father who seeks those who killed his daughter. In the next half-hour we’ll give you some details about the never-before-seen footage they’ve promised to show us and anything else you might want to know. Plus, we have plenty of stills from Drive Angry.

Why Nicolas Cage? Why?! If you were one of the many people who felt awkward watching Cage and his wig star in the 2007 adaptation Ghost Rider brace yourself because they’ll be back. A while ago it was announced that Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor would direct the sequel Ghost Rider 2 for Sony but at the time no confirmation had been given regarding the return of Cage. Last night while on television promoting The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, the Oscar winner let it be known that he’ll be back for the film.

Nicolas Cage is an Academy Award winning actor who’s done and seen it all. He’s taken on drama, comedy, action, horror, you name it and he’s probably had a part in it. With a career that spans almost 30 years the actor has recently found himself attracted to big budget family films like the National Treasure series, comic films like Ghost Rider, and his latest flick The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.
Despite his background in the industry, Cage still finds wonder and fun in making movies and revealed that he likes the new challenges that effects driven films bring. At the Los Angeles Press Day for the movie he discussed his personal and professional friendship with Apprentice director Jon Turteltaub as well as his affinity for working with young actors such as his co-star Jay Baruchel.

This week Disney’s bringing out the big guns to combat the blockbuster competition in the form of Nicolas Cage, Jay Baruchel, and Mickey Mouse — sort of. The Sorcerer’s Apprentice is based on a segment from the classic animated film Fantasia that featured Mickey as a young and eager student to an all powerful wizard. In this adaptation, Baruchel plays the apprentice to Cage’s sorcerer in a film dominated by glossy special effects, family humor, and a swollen score.

Not only is the film still happening but according to THR, the studio is hiring not one, but two directors to helm it. Crank’s Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor are in early talks to take on Ghost Rider 2, with Nicolas Cage expected to reprise his role as the hero.
