New Year’s Eve is around the corner. 2011 is coming to an end and we have the ensemble movie New Year’s Eve to remind us of that. To celebrate the new year and release of the movie, we at ScreenCrave put together a competition where we asked you to name 20 actors, of you choice, that you would put in a film. The Twilight Saga finally got knocked down from its three-week perch at the top of the box office by none other than, New Year’s Eve. Although the star-studded movie took the top spot during its debut weekend, it is off to a dreadful start — $13.7 million. Jonah Hill‘s The Sitter followed New Year’s Eve with another low score of $10 million. Breaking Dawn Part 1 fell to No. 3, and brought in $7.9 million, bringing its worldwide total to an outstanding $633.5 million. The Muppets was No. 4 with $6.6 million; and Arthur Christmas fell to No. 5 with $6.6 million.

This Fall has been modest in comparison to many other recent years, in terms of major film releases. On paper there were a number of films that could have been $100 Million plus titles, but only Breaking Dawn has done blockbuster business, and has remained on top of the box office for three weeks. That’s going to change with the release of New Year’s Eve. Still, it’s been a slow, slow Fall.
