It doesn’t even have a title yet, but based on the casting so far, Woody Allen‘s next project looks promising.
King of suave Antonio Banderas is confirmed for the cast Allen’s so-far untitled 2010 film. Plot details are still under wraps (damn you Allen and your mysterious tendencies!), so we don’t know what role the Spanish actor will play, but I hope Allen gives him a gun.

Fresh off of the ensemble win for Best Picture, Slumdog Millinaire star Frieda Pinto is taking advantage of her new found success. The Indian born model-turned actress has just signed on to co-star in the latest project from famed director, Woody Allen. According to Variety, Pinto has been cast in the “ingenue” role of the yet to be titled film. In typical Woody Allen fashion this project has been shrouded in mystery, and we only know a few key things.

Two-time Academy Award winner Sean Penn is already circling a new project and guess what? It’s a drama. According to Variety, the thespian is nearing a deal to star in Fair Game. Penn is being courted to play Ambassador Joseph Wilson, the husband of a C.I.A. agent who inadvertently compromises his wife’s career. The wife in question is Valerie Plame Wilson whom Penn’s 21 Grams co-star Naomi Watts is set to play. Ambassador Wilson wrote op-ed columns that accused the Bush Administration of falsifying information about weapons of mass destruction to justify their invasion of Iraq.

The International is a political thriller that focuses on the corrupted state of one of the oldest institutions in the world. I’m not referring to the presidency or the military, I’m talking about the bank. Yes, the bank. Money makes the world go round, and according to this film it’s been the main culprit behind every major conflict in history. Inspired by actual events, the film follows an Interpol agent and a New York Assistant D.A. as they try to bring down a bank called the IBBC. The IBBC is an international trust that happens to be involved with everything from money laundering and illegal weapons supply to murder.
