It’s one of the most revered “teen films” of all time that inadvertently gave birth to “The Brat Pack,” a crew of stars who appeared in several youth oriented films during the decade. In 1985 a geek, an athlete, a princess, a criminal, and a basket case all came together to make movie magic. With the sad news of the death of John Hughes, I started to think about all the actors who worked with him and realized that it wasn’t that big of a group. Much like Judd Apatow does now, Hughes liked to work with a lot of the same people over and over again. Molly Ringwald, John Candy, and many more became a star because of multiple appearances in Hughes’ films.

TOP TEN: Best High School Movies

How old do you have to be to be too old for a High School movie?  Pretty freaking old is what I’m thinking.  Some of the best movies around can be stuck into this special little category.  This is a group that dominates both our hearts and the box office.  My original brainstorming list had 27 movies on it.  I had to be talked down to 10 my girl Rox (Thanks!) and a lot of research because I felt that I simply couldn’t cut any of the films from the gigantic list. It hurt my soul to whack some of them.  But, here’s what it boiled down to, the best of the best.  Is your favorite missing?  Then, stop muttering at your computer screen and leave a comment!  Represent!
